Has anyone's status for any school been changed to "Check Back Dec 1?" If so, for which school and when was your interview? Not sure if schools have begun putting up this status update or when this is done.

I've looked through past interview/acceptance threads and many/most of those with the status "Check Back Dec 1" end up getting accepted, according to my observations. And those who haven't gotten this update haven't been accepted, at least on Dec 1.

Feel free to chime in if you know anything about this or if you've previously applied and have knowledge about this. I'm really curious. Thanks!
 
I think it can also mean waitlisted, though I'm not positive. "Check Back Dec 1" without an interview definitely means a rejection, though.

All of my schools still say "invited for interview". Is that a bad thing?

So far I haven't received this update. I don't know if anyone has - if you have please share which school and when you interviewed. Not sure when "Check Back Dec 1" is usually put up

No. He said that after the interview, the status usually changes from "invited for interview" to "check back Dec 1". Mine still says invited for interview and he said if it doesn't change, that's a rejection. So I was making sure because I've never read that.

my bad. Yes. so aadsas takes it's sweet time updating stuff so it saying "invited to interview" still is not a big deal.

So it doesn't mean a rejection? Even if it doesn't change until Dec 1?
 
Schools have no reason to wait until December to hand you a rejection; they can reject you whenever they want. If you interviewed pre-December and didn't bomb it, you will either be accepted or waitlisted on December 1st. Straight-up rejections after interview means you had a bad interview.

Historically, I've seen that people who've gotten this status update end up with an acceptance on Dec 1

I'm in the same boat that mine still says "Invited for Interview". I read in a past thread someone who had their status change to "Check back on Dec. 1" and it was a rejection. I do agree that from what I've seen, most mean acceptance or waitlist.

I do not. Everyplace that had "invited for interview" stayed that way after my interview, save Tufts which changed back to "under review"
 
No lol my point stands, I just changed my mind about the post for no reason, not sure why I removed it to be honest.

Got my first "Check Back Dec 1" status update - Temple University.

Anyone else heard anything?
