I'm on the quarter system, so what would normally take 10 weeks is shortened down to three weeks since it meets during b term in the summer. There are 5-6 hours of class per day, but is it realistic to actually learn that much material (and retain the info) in such a short period of time? The class doesn't even start for another 2 months and I'm already thinking of reading ahead just to get a jump on things. I'd love to hear study tips from people who have taken courses that only meet a or b term in the summer

i'm currently taking a chemII class that teaches the material in 12 days. we have a test every 1.5 days and there are 5 topics covered: equilibrium, acid/bases, thermodynamics, kinetics, and redox.

our professor is pretty thorough and teaches the material well. i've been following each topic simultaneously with the matching chapter from the kaplan blue book to make sure material for the DAT isnt being skipped over in my class and my professor pretty much covers everything in those chapters + more. although the pace is really fast, we do tons of homework and practice problems daily for each section. it's a huge time commitment and very tiring. i'm not sure how long i'll retain this stuff, but for the purpose of the DAT in 3 months, i think i'm okay.

just find out what your prof will cover and talk to students who have taken it before. my main concern would be whether you're getting through all the material for the DAT.
