Hey, dumb question from a californian...

How are the Chicago schools affiliated - Stritch, Pritzker and Finch , besides the fact that they could all be part of the same limerick? I applied to them because they have ok out of state acceptance rates but I wasn't sure how that whole thing with University of Chicago worked....

Like there's UC's and Cal States, and UC's are better and the one's with med schools....is it the same deal with Chicago?

Sorry to sound ignorant....

there once was a med school called Finch....
whose rep was much less than Stritch....
but it's still been said that Pritzker's ahead
these chicago schools sure make me twitch....

uh, ok, bad example.....

cool avatar/ smilie
maybe someone else has the same one, but yours is the first I've seen and that is the coolest. Can't answer the context of your question, but Pritzker is about the greatest place on earth. Way better that any Cali school. Chicago is cool too. The Cubs are a bunch of bums though.

haha damn brick.........

you are pretty funny overall on sdn......but that limerick is tops.

you sure medicine is the right field for you? with your lyrical abilities...i can see you dominating in this new field you are exposing us to.......

i dont think they are affiliated but i too will wait for an actual chicago person to answer your question.....

but the musical and the movie were both excellent......however i liked the movie more so......

I'm not quite sure how the three schools are affiliated, however finch is 25 miles outside of Chicago and serves a more suburban area from what I hear. NW gets a real mix of patient demographics since it's right downtown, and Strich is in a more suburban area as well. Pritzker is about ten minutes south of downtown and serves an underserved area around Hyde Park.

I visited Pritzker and absolutely loved it! The attitude amongst the students/faculty is amazing and the school itself is just breath taking. It didn't seem like there was a ton of interaction between NW, Pritz, Str, and Finch from what I saw...

Anyway, hope that helps some. In my opinion Pritzker is the best.
(totally unbias of course😛 )

Ok I'm from Chicago, so I'll do my best. First off, the schools are not affiliated in any way, shape, or form, besides the fact that they share a city.

U of Chicago (Pritzker) is on the south side, in an area that is known for providing its hospitals with some of the worst **** you'll ever see. It's also the most prestigious of the bunch.

Stritch is part of Loyola University, a private university. The undergraduate college is on the near-north side of the city, but the medical center is in Maywood, a near southwest suburb. Maywood may be a suburb, but it borders some bad neighborhoods and provides very much a city-like environment from the perspective of medicine.

Finch is in a whole 'nother world. It's in North Chicago, which, unlike what you might think, is neither part of Chicago proper nor anywhere near it. It's a far-north suburb that is in a very rich and ritzy area. It's definitely a different environment than the other two.

Hope this helps!
