Chief Resident

What kinds of things must one do to become chief resident? I would imagine the usual like work hard, dependability, team player, etc. What else though?

Ability to work well with your peers, and more importantly, the ability to schedule. A large portion of your job will be scheduling, scheduling, scheduling. (When I worked as a paramedic, I helped make the schedule for our shifts. It was a nightmare. If I'm offered a chief spot in a couple years, I may not take it for that sole reason.)

Thanks! I have no experience with scheduling. Maybe I can help out with the schedule and get some experience. Oh well.
