So what to expect in interviews then? Should we prepare same as we did for residency; like where do you see yourself in 5 years and whatever?

I would assume that interviews would entail parts of the PS w/ specific experiences in residency that have lead to a strong interest in CAP (nothing new). Also a detailed explanation of *interests/specialized fields/research in the specific CAP program applied to*
I would suggest to approach the IVs even more intentional than residency IVs, if that makes sense.
Any CAP around for feedback?
Hey guys,
I posted that earlier but only started seeing a few programs using this tab and not all of them.
There is an interview tab on applicants' ERAS page. I called ERAS and they said that we are supposed to see interview invites there and they have to be added by programs not applicants. Called the program and they had no idea it existed or how to add it on there. I was wondering if anyone can see their IV on there? Or any insight if this is crucial to confirm appointment?
Seems like it! Thanks for replyingFor all my interview offers, they were either scheduled via personal email or over the phone. I checked that tab and none of them show up on that interview section. It seems to be a program-specific preference

No. Not as a rule though individual programs may require this which makes no sense. but if you are interesting in california you should apply for a license asap. It will be too late to apply for a license if you wait until you find out if you've matched in california.Hi guys! I am wondering if IMG's need a PTAL letter to applying to child fellowships in California. Thanks!
Waiting on two East Coast programs and one Midwest program here. Anyone else?
One Midwest, one east coast and 2 west coast that I know won’t send out until september. I’m assuming Laurie’s hasn’t yet?
How many interviews are people shooting for? I applied to 10 because I’m geographically restricted but now that I’m starting to pay for my flights/hotels I’m wondering if I need to do all 10 lol
Kind if worried. I’ve only applied in California and I haven’t really heard anything back.
May be a silly question, but is this for residency or fellowship?
if not the latter.... you can start applying? I thought apps are sent out the 15th? Maybe I'm just confused...
Same boat here. I think it's important to consider desired region(s) as tops (where the interviewee wants to live in for fellowship; might even settle down and work a bit in), program fit, and/or program ranking (only if ranking matters to interviewee). I noticed you've got some very good program invites.
As for myself, I was thinking the same thing earlier. 8 interview invites total, with 5 or 6 of interest. Just waiting on 2 more - totaling exactly 10 invites. Going to all 10 is impractical and costly. It will most likely be 6. I would think it's hard to get good invites only to set aside those for the prioritization of others, but if that's what needs to be--I say just do you.
Thanks! Maybe we’ll run into each other at some of our Northeast programs. I haven’t gotten a good sense of how “competitive” these fellowships are and how many people should rank. Obviously pretty personal given how different people’s CVs will be. I’m overly anxious so I may end up doing all the ones I get invited to though... haha
Last year wasn't competitive, but I get the feeling this year is going to be more competitive than last. Judging on the interview invites posted (thanks all), when you think about it, it's a small group of people compared to the entire interview pool. I am focusing on travel itinerary to distract myself from on-and-off anxiety. Now I am currently thinking of getting a pizza at Yale...mmm Connecticut pizza haha.
Kudos to you for potentially doing all ten. I read in a CAP post somewhere that eight is a good safety net for CAP ranking, though other people have mentioned before they've gotten their third choice and above (like last year's thread). I guess, on a subjective level, match rankings might be determined by fit more than ever before. It's good perspective to always remember that it's just like med school and residency - all you need is one match and you're set!
Yeah, unfortunately my partner already matched so I only really have 1 place I want to be! At a competitive place too... oh well!
I think dassie meant matched last year?I don't mean to be curious, but, how did your partner already match?
I think dassie meant matched last year?
How do we know if the program offers positions out of the match? Do we ask them upfront? Thanks

I’ve had one program tell me at the interview and another program include it within their invite to help you decide to accept or decline. I saw other ones put it on their website. What I was told is that Midwest programs/smaller city programs will more than likely prematch out of fear of not filling (not because they’re “bad” but the location is less desirable than the coasts). I haven’t found out the etiquette about asking before interviews though.
