How competitive are programs in California? I saw a few programs didn't fill last year. I wonder why that is. I know it was mentioned that generally you get your first 3 choices for child psych fellowship.

I hope everyone's interviews are going well and you found a few programs you love! :)

I wanted to check in about the AACAP reception invitation. Is this to the Thursday evening mentoring reception? I haven't received any invitations for events with specific programs, but I also noticed that a lot of my email with AACAP in the body are going to spam, ugh. I didn't apply to NYU, are any other programs sending out these invites? I just wanted to make sure I wasn't ignoring an invitation from a program I'm interested in. Thanks so much!!
 
So are invites finished? Also, anyone get prematch offers or bring it up?

Hope the interview season has been good to you all. Note to self and others, it will get chilly for November and December interviews, so don't forget flu shots**, two weeks prior to interviews! (**not guaranteed to treat third-year burnout/fatigue)

Is anyone following up past PD thank you letters, with calls and/or e-mail about other parts of the program? I have done that for only one program I interviewed at so far. I should really get to moving with the other programs, but I am feeling a bit tired.

Check your Outlook Spam folder too. I found an AACAP applicant event invitation from a CAP program I am interviewing with in my Spam folder.
 
Anybody heard back from U of Miami at all?

I’m sending thank you’s to everyone I interviewed with but only the PD/APDs seem to respond. My initial goal was sending them out within a week of the interview but now it’s more like hoping to get them all done by my last interview in mid November... lol

I doubt there are any more interviews at this point. You could do a Hail Mary and email/call any programs you’re interested in but I think most of mine offered interview dates only through the end of November.

Would love to hear other people’s thoughts on the different programs though! Seems like there are a lot of great choices.

I feel like people (or at least me) do not feel comfortable sharing program impressions publicly given how small the applicant pool is and how everybody seems to know everybody. Feel free to privately message me as it seems like we've interviewed at some of the same places! :)

Overall the process is much less competitive, programs typically interview anyone who applies (there are exceptions for more elite programs), i think if you make a good impression on the interview and convey your interest to them you should have a good chance matching your first
 
Anybody have any tips for responding to love letters/calls? I usually don’t pick up unless i already know the number but have gotten a voicemail or two and not quite sure how to respond. I loved pretty much all the ones I interviewed at and know the child psych world is small so don’t want to come across as rude or anything but also feel like I’m pretty set on my list and don’t want to be misleading or anything.
 
Certified the ROL list already but seems like we are still able to make edits afterwards. Right?

Match results are on 1/2 but closes on 1/6. Is is similar to residency; where we know we matched but location will be shown a few days later?

We find out if we match and where at the same time. January 2nd at 12 pm

Any idea what the mean PRITE score for PGY-3 is across the States?

I thought they stopped reporting raw scores and changed it to a percentile/stdev system? Like 500 is average, 400/600 are +/-1, 300/700 +/-2, etc

Don't have it in front of me, but it was a bit over 500, IIRC. Maybe around 515?
~470s for G1s, 490s for G2s, 530s for G4s. I'll look it up for you when I'm back in the office.
