Soo..Im trying to decide on either keeping my History major and Minor in Spanish or switching over to maybe Biology still with the minor in Spanish. I know I can still be a History major and get accepted. I just dont know if it is something worth still working towards on top of the pre-req for Med School. What major are other people doing as an Undergraduate? 😕

Im will be a transfer student this fall since we moved 8 hours from my first University.

Thanks in advance.

I'd say stick with your History major, but I'm biased because I'm also a non-science major 🙄 I honestly love it, it's a great balance, and think of it this way: you'll have all of med school to study biology, so take the opportunity now to study history

Yeah because if medicine doesn't work out, you can use your history major to ___? law school?___.

Always have a plan "b"!

If they take prereqs for med school, they would probably be able to go for nursing or PA if they're so inclined.

i think a lot/most PA programs have goofy requirements.

Heres one example i pulled from the first program i looked at:

The following Minimum Prerequisites must be completed with a grade of "B-" or better:
  1. Human Anatomy and Physiology - 6 semester credit hours
    - May be taken as Anatomy & Physiology I and Anatomy and Physiology II or as separate Human Anatomy and Human Physiology Courses
-Taking a lab or labs with these courses is recommended
  2. Inorganic or General Chemistry with Lab - 3 semester credit hours
  3. Organic or Biological Chemistry with Lab - 3 semester credit hours
  4. Microbiology with Lab - 3 semester credit hours
  5. Psychology - 6 semester credit hours
-Introductory Psychology and Lifespan Psychology are recommended
  6. College Algebra or Statistics or any Higher Mathematics - 3 semester credit hours
  7. Medical Terminology - 1 semester credit hour
I know a lot require what seems like an absurd number of clinical hours too (Shadowing, working as a NA, etc.)

Just throwing that out there.

Totally forgot about that The worst part is that many programs only will take work hours into consideration, not volunteering or shadowing.
