When you are given an option of choosing the people you want to meet during your interview, do you opt for the people you want to work with, or someone familiar to you, so you start off with an advantage?

When offered the chance, I did a bit of both. It's nice to know you have someone on your side but it's also good to get a new posse that's excited to have you. If it's one or the other, and you can ensure that the known quantity will be beneficial to you, go that direction.
