I am just finishing up my primary application. I am adding schools and seeing that they ask you to "Please indicate the area(s) you are interested in obtaining a Combined Medical Degree/Graduate Degree or Combined Medical Degree/Ph.D Degree." How important is this?

It's not. What's much more important is what you indicate on your secondary application. I would just select anything you're potentially interested in and go from there.

Yeah, I agree. I just put down molecular biology, biochemistry, and bioengineering for all of the programs I applied to. 😀
