How do you like your position with Cigna WFH? What was your starting pay? Are you on the phone all day? Work/ life balance? How long did it take to interview and get an offer? Did you negotiate? All insight is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I enjoy my wfh position with Cigna and have been working for them for almost 2.5 years . My position is for patient consultation staff pharmacist and it entails being on the phone all day consulting with patients . You definitely get to use a lot more of your knowledge in my role . Calls are mostly back to back and we take anywhere from 80-100 calls a day . Questions and consults may be about medication side effects , medication use , drug interactions , potential alternative medicines that can be prescribed if one is not covered by the patient’s insurance, storage temperatures for insulin , and countless other questions . You also do prescription transfers as retails , hospitals and other pharmacies call requesting transfers . Overall , despite the back to back calls , this job is easy as pie compared to retail . In my time in this role I am pretty much a top performer based on metrics . The only downside is the pay is low and non-negotiable. I started at $52 and now I’m around $56 per hour . Honestly , I’m being underpaid because I am an experienced pharmacist with 11-12 years of experience - 9 years retail and the rest here . BUT they probably figure they don’t have to negotiate because it’s one of the coveted wfh positions every pharmacist wants these days . I may eventually look for higher paying roles now that I have experience because $50 something an hour in 2024 is fairly low , especially if you have experience .

What would you consider a higher paying pharmacist role with Cigna? I think for the low stress and your clearly saying how it comes with ease it’s worth it for you. This is great! I’ve heard working from home has so many perks! You have been so so helpful!!

Go directly to Cigna.com and look at careers. Put in your state. It will come up as long as your state is listed on the requisition. Type pharmacist in the search section.
