Hi all. I have been super fortunate to be accepted to multiple school this app cycle and now am down to Cincinnati and UCF. For context, I am an FL resident now, but I am formerly from Indiana. I do not know exactly what specialty that I am looking for, but I have done work with Neurology and I like that a lot. Regardless, I want a school that keeps all of my options open, which I feel like both of these probably do. I want to prioritize receiving great mentorship throughout my med school years and having many outlets for research/shadowing/whatever else that could help me get that.

Cincinnati
Pros:
- Academic medical center with all hospitals basically together
- Teaching hospitals
- Cincinnati Children's is really good even though I have no idea if I would like peds
- Lots of research opportunities going on from everything I have heard from current students
- Home residency programs in so many specialties
- New neuroscience building and great neuro research history
- Changed to P/F (with distinctions) preclinical recently
- COA is roughly $237k for all 4 yrs (assuming that I would qualify for the KY metro rate once I sign a lease there)
- A good amount of extended family in the area
- Have heard amazing things about the clinical training and exposure there from physicians I've shadowed

Cons:
- Cold haha
- Would be confined to living roughly 15+ mins away for all 4 years due to the KY metro rate
- Far from immediate family in FL
- Internal ranking

UCF
Pros:
- Cheapest option with roughly $202k total COA expected
- Faculty seemed very nice and invested in the students' successes and future vision of the school
- Gorgeous facility
- Amazing weather
- Close to younger brother who goes to undergrad there
- Singular focused research project thru first 2 years (kind of a con in my mind too)
- Match list is very impressive especially for a newer school

Cons:
- Exclusive HCA partnership for clerkships
- Rotations are located all over Florida
- Graded all 4 years
- Lake Nona seemed isolated, with very nice developed buildings mixed in with wide open fields

Let me know what you all think and if you have any experience or advice about either school that I may have missed!
