Hey all,

Exam in 3 days and don't exactly know how I feel going in. Was hoping for some unbiased opinions as to whether go ahead and write or push back test date.

UWorld 65% overall
NBME 4 - May - 221
NBME 6 - June - 210
UWSA Mid July - 228
Free 150 - 80%
NBME 7 - end July - 221

Study sources: UWorld, MTB2&3, Step Up to CK

Don't really know how I feel. Permit expires end of August, but I'll be back in a rotation so study time will be limited. No real gut feeling, want to write, but feeling uneasy.

Any thoughts?

many factors
1) what specialty you going for
2) step 1 score
3) will the extra time make a difference [you stated you will be on rotations]

Step 1 220
Going for IM/FM, I'm also an IMG

I'd like to think that the extra time would be helpful and pull everything together, esp with some last min concepts, but realistically I'm not too sure that will be the case.

- Sorry for the double response, I was not sure how to reply/del previous posts.

OP, your current scoring range is honestly on the low side of for matched IMGs, even in the uncompetitive specialties for which you're aiming. While you could still match with such a score, you should think carefully about how beneficial extra time will be for you. If you believe you can raise your score even by 10 points, you should strongly consider taking additional time to study for Step 2. The match process is already biased against IMGs; you don't want to hinder yourself further by not doing as well as you can on step 2. However, if you truly believe that there is zero chance your score will improve with the extra time, then you should keep your scheduled exam date. Good luck, and I hope this helps!
