Class III preparation - help needed!

Considering class III preparation with palatal acces on a maxillary lateral incisor for composite, DO YOU MAKE BOTH PULPAL AND AXIAL WALL in the preparation, or just have AXIAL with beveled margins (like a box)👍 ?
Books are really confusing me, since I know that for composite filling dovetail for retention is not a doctrine.
