Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I know; there's so much I should really refine after not using my brain for the past two years since I graduated. (please don't judge me on my grammar)

I literally can't talk right sometimes after working with Deaf patients for so long. I know the feeling of being out of practice and it makes me nervous :scared:

I'm game. Oh do I love live music!!!

Question for everyone... what is the best concert you've ever been to? I would like 2 answers. #1) Musically, what was the best concert? #2) Sentimental value; what was the concert that meant the most to you?

1) Tough call. I've been to a lot of concerts...of the ones that are "up there" include a large local music festival, Social Distortion, Incubus (high school...they are teh suck now), and Death Cab for Cutie.

2) The Get Up Kids Farewell tour. It was hands down the best show I've been to performance and sentimentally. But David Bowie was pretty awesome live too!

I've always wanted to learn sign language... it was supposed to be my project for my year off but it never happened 🙁

😀 😀 😀

Hahaha, can this really happen and I just drive y'all around all weekend ?!?! 😆

In all honesty, from what I have perceived of y'all's personalities, I think both of you would love Austin, Live Music Capitol of the World 🙂

I've always wanted to go to Austin City Limits!

You should hear me try to talk English after speaking Assyrian with my family and/or friends for so long  I have huge pauses in my sentences that I am sure annoy people 🙂

Its hard to do without structured lessons or a very patient Deaf friend who will take you out to hang with their buddies...but I lovesssss it 😍

 I just keep going despite how stupid I sound then correct myself if someone notices...maybe that's what went wrong in my interviews

Yes, the next song is "Never gonna give you up"! Rare strong showing for the radio.

Sarah; Bowie would dominate. I was definitely a Get Up Kids fan back in the day; solid choice. I have not given up on Incubus just yet. Admittingly, the last two albums have not been the best, but I think they'll rebound.

Mike Einziger still has one of my favorite quotes... it was in Guitar magazine back somewhere around 2001. "The day we make an album that is the same as another; no matter how popular it is, is the day we've failed."

yea this is what I figured 🙁 I'm going to keep an eye out for any courses while I'm at Cornell. My goal in life is to become fluent in Spanish and another language... if I can at least get beyond my mental block and learn to speak Spanish I'd be beyond happy.

Don't judge me, lol

1) I saw Rachel Yamagata, Keane, and Coldplay in one weekend at Austin City Limits Festival 2005. The best musical experience of my life.
2) it's such a tie between Spice Girls (I saw them with my 4 bffs) and Celine Dion. I grew up listening to them, and cried at both concerts 😳

Festival or show ?!

Spice Girls FTW!!! I loved them growing up!

To answer my own question...

#1) Musically, the best concert I've been to is a toss up between two. the first was Decemberists with My Brightest Diamond. Both bands had amazing sets and it was at the Orpheum in Madison, so the accoustics were awesome. Secondly, was Youngblood Brass Band... just amazing, if you get a chance look them up on Youtube.

#2) Sentimentally there are quite a few to choose from. If I had to choose one it would be Brand New my senior year of high school. I went with my 5 closest friends. At that point we were all obsessed with Deja Endendu... they played the entire album; everything about that night just ruled.

I'll help you with Spanish and have the much needed brush up on mine... Then we can go do an awesome M1 summer abroad trip together in which I can snag my Latin lover 😎 while of course having some kind of genuine medical experience 😀

I don't really go to concerts. IIRC, the only two I've ever gone to were Guster with The Format opening for them and The Offspring (don't remember the musical opener).

I would totally link to IASIP if I could right now

I would kill to see the Decemberists in concert. Definitely one of my favorite bands 👍

#1) Rx Bandits with The Format as the opener was another one of my favorite concerts. I had never heard of the Format before that, needless to say I was instantly a fan. Though Dog Problems was a terrible album IMO.

#2) One of my favorite moments in IASIP for sure.👍

Yeah, "The First Single" is insanely catchy. If I do end up making it down to Austin, I'll make sure to check out some live music 🙂

Alright party people, I'm outta here. I'm flying out to Vegas early tomorrow morning, so I won't be online tonight. I'll be back Wednesday though, so don't miss me too much 😉

Later gators!

lol at bryant air balling a wide open 3. No one close enough to him to even bother running towards him as he shot, yet it barely scratched the net
