First off, when you see the word "stafford" no one is GIVING you anything. The government OWES you that money dammit, unless you are independently wealthy, so they better hand it over!

So Lyss, if your parents won't fork over the contribution that Cornell expects them to, just get in contact with Cornell/the lender you chose and tell them you are going to take unsubsidized loans to cover it--cuz it's your money and you're entitled to it.

I am doing this 6 week pre-matric. program here at Howard University. It is so intense. I suggest anyone who has not had biochem. to go ahead and learn the amino acids, and review glycolysis, TCA and electron transport chain. We went over all of these concepts in two days.

Good luck to everyone starting in the next couple months, and to those still waiting 'Don't Loose Hope'!!!! I know the wait list has started moving at Howard.

I have had no internet all week because it was our roommate's router and they took it to their new place.. Now that I am at my parent's house i see 20+ pages i missed! eek... anything interesting happen? LOL

I love it how little eateries are willing to charge you an arm and a leg for something healthy and simple like Kashi cereal, but charge less than $3 for the greasiest, most unhealthy sausage, ham, egg, and croissant sandwich...😡

In BWI airport trying to stay awake...on my way up to Newark (LOL I'll be able to see Killadelphia from my airplane window)

Morning all. :yawn: Well I guess it's more like afternoon. 😛 oh well.

I wonder if Cornell is really going to be able to get me a finaid package before I have to make my decision on FRIDAY.

I definitely got less than 2 weeks notice for this...(10 days, but still. I suppose it was my fault for not having filled out the needaccess -- things would have gone a lot faster if I had).

Interesting. The financial aid handbook from Cornell says that NeedAccess is free. Maybe I should contact them for a reimbursement, haha.

Haha, yeah. Maybe if Pitt contacts me with an acceptance it will only be $14/per NeedAccess school 😛.

(Did everyone else waitlisted at Pitt get an e-mail from Pitt yesterday asking if you wanted to stay on the waitlist?)
