On another note, I really think I want to go into Rads... It suits my personality best (I think), and I love physics. Maybe RadOnc instead? I know Step I may change all that, but :xf:. T minus ~2yrs to next life-altering exam.

Does that have anything to do with the $$$ they pay you to take that elective?:laugh::laugh::laugh:
 
I know I want to go into Sports Medicine. Now I just have to figure out over the course of these next couple of years if I wanna do it thru Orthp, Internal, Family or Peds. We shall see!

haha that might be; think being paid is only against policy if credit is received for the elective, so maybe they just don't give "credit" for that one

If going into Radiology makes you as awesome as two of our TAs (one's one of the Radiology Residents, the other's one of the MSTPs who wants to do Rads), go for it! 👍 😎

I have absolutely no clue where I'm going to end up or where I want to end up. 😳
 
I'll probably go with some sort of "lifestyle speciality". But I'm gonna wait for the dust to settle on this healthcare reform mess before I make any decisions.

I'm studying for the first time in days b/c I have an anatomy exam on Monday, and I'm really pounding some material out. I can't help but think, "Imagine if I studied like this every day...". Then I realize that it would suck terribly to study that much.









...Then I realize that I should have been studying that much b/c I'm honestly concerned about passing at this point... FML 🙁
 
1st gross test down! Felt really solid 😀😀. Now I'll just be :xf:.

"Some Lovers Try Positions That They Can't Handle" came in handy today. had to identify 3 carpal bones 🙂👍

Yeah, that was me yesterday. I finally gave up on Moore's and studied mostly from Netter's and have started re-watching the lectures at 2X speed (and do the MacBaby program for embryology! It's so helpful!). I really wish I'd done that sooner!

I'm pretty sure I'll pass if I can keep that up, but all I've accomplished this afternoon is taking a nap and starting a load of laundry... Hopefully I'll start watching another lecture soon or something.

I'm actually cranking out MacBaby right now, and it seems to help. However, the animations make it look like the embryonic endoderm is formed from the hypoblast rather than from invading epiblast cells... so I don't know how much to trust it lol. Overall it's good though.

GET TO WORK!! That's me helping you to be motivated 🙂

phew! took my second exam on friday.. I studied so much f*cking more for this one but I think i still barely passed.. i think once we finish cell bio I am going to start reading the textbook instead of lecture slides+handout notes... do you guys read the textbook? do you feel its better?
 
is there a way we can make a class of 2013 group in allo class threads maybe? or are our hopes just completely dead?
 
i shoudl change my signature.. i;m not quite that happy anymore about nyu med --- only because there are exams lol

We just started anatomy, so I'm using the textbook a lot more but I didn't use any textbooks for cell bio.

yeah.. thats been leading to me barely passing.. i wonder if its partly bc many people just know this material already.

My favorite part of biochem was when I learned that Caffeine is basically TriMethyl Xanthine. I with my S-Adenosyl Methionine knew how to methylate my xanthines so that I could stay up and study...

Netter? Many hours have I spent gazing at its pages..with no signs of that changing any time soon.

I don't like Netters. Grant's is better, plus it has a lot of the tables for actions and innervations.

Rohens is the best... it has actual pictures of cadavers... SO helpful, especially when studying after the anatomy lab closes before the exam... I love my Rohens 😍

agree to disagree 😀. I just supplement with Moore's. I need a lot of space when I study anatomy.

I have Rohens but haven't started using it yet. I usually just double-team with Netter and Grants. I'm considering purchasing the Moore book as well.
