So I apparently made anatomy my b*tch last week. That felt good. I am so over biochem its not even funny. This is probably close to the one thousandth time I've learned about transcription and translation. seriously.

Hope everyone is surviving!
 
Took my first exam of medical school this morning. Anatomy. Pounded it with a 96! Not that it matters... year 1 P/F, but still 😎

I kind of wish it would get cold out here...instead I have to listen to people whine about how bad the sets were during their morning surf outing.

in other news, it's 2am and I'm still awake.... but for very diff reasons than yesterday 😀 sleep just has not been my friend lately. i think we are frenemies or something. let's cuddle 😆

Yes yes...I will miss the seasons and for some reason the people...people seem too ditzy out here and they get in my way.

Chubbs is pretty crazy though...I was the voice of reason that entire weekend :laugh:...and most of the time I was trying to pull raaska off of chubbs and matt :laugh:....that is...when I was not taking pictures of her scandalous ways :laugh:
 
Despite being tired from having an exam today followed by two consecutive lectures on MHC classes, APC's, and cytokines, I really enjoyed our biochem in health and disease clin correlate lecture today on mitochondrial diseases
 
Everywhere I turn I see something about freak'N HMG-CoA reductase....damn that enzyme😡

learning about Huntington's disease today was pretty unsettling and then watching a patient interview about a woman recently diagnosed with huntington's was emotional too - but she was an actor ... a really good one, tears and sobs and all.

lectures on medical genetics and intermediate filaments and junctions disorders..
so tired though.. waking up at 7/730am is really taking its toll.. esp when i can no longer go to bed after midnight...
 
I've adopted a go to bed at 3am, get up at 10 schedule. It's working pretty good except days where I need to be at school. Then I set all my alarms at max and hope I don't annoy my neighbors too much.

Im really sick of biochemistry. I feel like I'm a junior in college again learning about chromatin and transcription/translation. Its really hard to get motivated right now 😡

On another note anatomy rocks, I could study it all day 🙂

I have to do a power point journal club presentation tomorrow...critiquing a "Cell" paper my professor wrote....HOW FUN!!!

I'm going to get ripped a new one...and I thought pimping does not begin until third year...

geesh...UCSD ensures we get pimped by PhD's on journal article critiquing/and lab techniques and then by MD's

I feel like I'm having the reverse problem. I did well in the biochem stuff last block, now I'm sort of floundering through anatomy 🙁

I think I just need to adjust my study habits for anatomy.

I'm going to need to study this weekend👎.

My devotion to working during the week and chilling on the weekend wavered and I spent most of this week goofing off.

At least it's raining, so I'm not missing too much.
