I think part of it is that I really hate every picture of me ever taken 😉

I guess I'm just playing it safe (or I'm slightly paranoid), in case ADCOMs read the thread. I'm still under consideration at two schools and will be until March.

Part of it is that thousands of people I don't know will probably see the picture. Maybe one of them knows me and doesn't like me. 😕
 
Top of the morning to you all! I am looking forward to being able to do FAFSA! That means I have been accepted! Am I the only one who lives in this thread and hasn't been accepted yet? :laugh: I mean, I ain't trippin' cuz I know my time is coming, just curious though.

I think you're supposed to fill it out with or without being accepted, so long as you haven't been rejected...I'm filling it out for schools that have waitlisted me and interviewed me without any response. Also for one that hasn't responded re: interview decision, but that's just because I had one extra slot.

Question: If my earnings for 2007 are very different from my earnings in 2008, am I better off waiting until I have 2008 information? (I had a scholarship in 2007 that I no longer have). Or does it not matter a whole lot?

Its only the first quarter, you guys have plenty of time OMBD. Your defense just has to keep that TT offense in check, which can be done.

I have never filed before cuz I never made any money before. I plan on filing this year, so when do I file?

I guess as soon as you have your W2s and tax information...I'm filling mine out right now with 2007 information (which apparently you can use until you get your 2008 info).
 
pianola, i would use 2008 numbers esp! if they are lower

Haha I am kinda the same way. I posted my picture in there once but took it down after a little while.

Ahh. My parents are being difficult as well, and by that I mean they're gone all day and I head back to school tomorrow!
 
I filled out with old info once, but it wasn't worth it for me.. (since we always file early).
You're a lot more likely to get selected for verification and have to provide your tax results and such for the schools. Its just a pain in the a** especially when you file early each year anyway.

Make sure you use your 2008 info. I think by law, employers etc have to provide you with all of your previous fiscal year information by the end of the month.

Yup. Same here. It'll take me a while though since I quit my job, moved and picked up two new jobs. I bet my W-2s will be trickling in over the next two months. Ugh.
 
OMBD, yall are doing it! I was shocked when I turned on the t.v. and saw that you guys are up 24-21. Hopefully yall can keep it going!

Put $0. Seriously. You will only earn money if you work the summer after first year, and there's always a chance that you will not actually get paid for whatever learning experience you choose. 😀

I think those questions are for the kids with trust funds or other assets in their name that make yearly returns that they could estimate. Also the people with part-time jobs.

im watching a total knee repacement on ORlive and everytime I hear that chainsaw noise I cringe....i cant help it its like a reflex. Not grossed out or anything, just crazy to think this doctor is literally slicing a part of of this person femur off. 😱

And see, to me this is a normal feeling you seem to experience.

I just can't figure out what it is with surgery -- it's a 'competitive' specialty and I feel like every premed I've ever known wants to be a surgeon...but WHY on earth would you want to do surgery??? 7 years of hardcore residency in order to watch people bleed as you cut them open? I mean, not that it'd necessarily gross me out, but the bleeding and innards are hardly what I crave looking at. Also, surgery tends to be backbreaking work if you have long surgeries that take multiple days...

Why on earth is this specialty so popular? No way will 500K per year ever be worth it for me...

cuz its so coool! I was just thinking this same thing (referring to the bolded part). I was thinkin "man this looks really tiring...drilling hammering, snapping, hammering again..."

that doesnt make sense to me. Think about it...Gas...... They have control over EVERTHING. They put you to sleep when they want to, they wake you up when they want to. They basically have control over your life. I mean yea the surgeon does too, if the F up then you could be in bad shape.....but the gas peope are the ones that are literally bringing you in and out of consciousness.
