Class of 2013!!!

My roommate doesn't like me anymore. It all began with me getting invitations for medical school interviews while he was still finishing most of the secondaries that he kept putting off, probably because he thought his MCAT score would help him out (he did get a WashU interview 😛) He gets very irritated at me all the time, and whenever old friends congratulate me or mention Hopkins he always gets extremely hostile. I let it go three times now, but I have lost the patience in him. Should I just let our friendship die?

Glad to hear that you are getting better. My day was good. Just worked as usual. Might be getting a second a job coaching JV Baseball at my old high school. I hope it works out.

Hey Lyss, did you get 2 emails from Howard, one about your letter going to be mailed and then another one saying your letter will be mailed and you can call?

What is his deal? Why is he such a sour puss!? I think you should just continue to do you and be you. I hate to say to end a friendship but he is a poot butt. Is it worth the extra energy?

living with premeds sucks 🙁 My room mate was premed and we decided after soph year that we wouldn't discuss "business" at home
 
that's sad vadd. I've had to break ties (more like been able to I guess..) with an ex bc he's so jealous and mean about me getting in and him not.

I think u might find some of this story 50-100 pgs back in the thread. :laugh:

VCU is on 2/4, an I have UVA on 2/2... I might visit DC, to say hi to Obama...or perhaps I will just go to the Smithsonian.

It would be better to just address the situation with him the next time it happens or soon after it happens. He might not even realize that his hostility is showing. Or he might think that you give off some arrogant vibe. If you're really friends, then the two of you should be able to work something out. If more boys talked about their emotions, mad ish could be avoided.

Hopefully the next time I visit this great thread of ours, I will be giving you guys some official great news. We have talked it out a few times before when I would let it go, and he knew that he was doing it. But he keeps doing it, and until he gets an HMS interview/acceptance in his hands, I don't expect it to change.

Hmmm. Well, if there's ever a point where the negative in a relationship is more than the positive, I say drop it without a thought. If you think it's worth it for you to hold on (after all, you have to live with this guy), I think it's worth it to rehash again that he is being not cool about the situation, but then ask if if there's anything you're doing that's contributing to this situation? And make it clear that you won't tolerate/appreciate him snapping at you.

I'm naturally a bottler... but certain people (like my bf :meanie:) can read me like a book. Even if the littlest thing bothers me they can read it on my face or in my voice. It's so annoying

My week is already over...hehe, I do not have classes on Friday😀

But I have to come into lab on Saturday though... and I have a presentation next week, so lots of homework and stuff to do though...

Oh, and Berk, congrats on being promoted to a MOD!
 
how do they decide who becomes asst mods? Obviously they chose Berk because of her awesomeness.

Ever since I came to UCLA, I have had atleast one day without class... It is nice... but I am in lab all day Friday, so it technically counts. How is research going for you? Have you finished writing the paper that you were writing previously? Has it been published?
 
How do you remember that? Yeah, I'm still working on it. But I'm finalizing everything. I'm hoping for 1-2 more pubs before I graduate. 2 may be a stretch...but we'll see.

MORE? How many do you have? Oh man you are one of the crazies with like 5 first author publications aren't you...

If I am lucky, and my project works, I will be able to turn my honors thesis into a publication... but otherwise, none... although now that I am actually able to come to lab and not have to worry about being gone once or twice every week, I am getting around to doing my experiments...😳

EDIT: and I have a weird memory where I can remember random picky details...

You know, I totally understand from past relationships. After a while, you don't want everything to be overanalyzed ("how much is this going to bother her?")

Because my current relationship is still so new, I really love the fact that he can read my subtle "uh-this-would-be-a-problem" signs.
