This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
😱 I was under the impression you were a guy.

The cat is cool peoples; he has my stamp of approval🙂. I think I can relate with him.
well that's a new one for me.. haha no, im a girl.

I'm pretty sure I'll be staying where I go to med school for residency, but I'm stalking their website for fun... it was just updated so that's always good 🙂

aww.. i do things like that way too often as well... im actually consciously trying to not plan so far ahead and live in the present.. and I have to say that thats isnt as easy as it sounds

Haha. I'm a perpetual goal setter. Never too early to start studying for Step 3, right?!

ah.. nicely put👍
Also, the more I think about it, the more I think I'm going to request a deferral...

I think I might need another year.
what are you planning for that year? performing and stuff?

Yay, I'm going to sleep all weekend.
but its valentine's day... lol

oh man! i went to the gym for the first time in months yesterday with a few friends: 30 min bike and 20 min swimming.. i felt so fantastic! lol

And as another strange name:

I did know someone (personally) named Unknown Unknown. He couldn't speak English when he came in the country and his paperwork got filled out as (First Name) Unknown, (Last Name) Unknown.

Wait, but there are plenty of non-English speaking immigrants that come here. Usually their names are just Anglicized however the immigration officer wants to spell it, no?

Yep... apparently the guy/girl that let this one in was new on the job or something... this happened about 20 years ago.. lol.

I would have loved to be there for roll call in school.

"Unknown, Unknown. Is there an Unknown, Unknown here?"

Blues! Are you done with your midterms yet? Almost there?

morning, no i have two more next week, but i am done with my two this week 😀 how bout you i hope not lacking too much sleep

Good Morning.
I'm trying something new today: I'm going to get my work out it before starting my day. Everyone always tells me that it makes it easier to sleep at night if you do so, and that you feel more energized throughout the day. Hopefully, that will be that case.

Bye

At least you're halfway there! I'm just waiting on grades, UGH. I have NO idea if I got an A or a B in this class - we didn't do much work and it's really gonna be up to her descretion.

I can never make myself do this - maybe if my mornings were flexible.. but I enjoy using my workout at night to detox 🙂

Gave a campus tour this morning - weather is GORGEOUS. With it being finals time, all my work study kids' schedules are kinda messed up, so I didn't have one to cover it.. but i didn't mind.

In other news, my pants are falling down... Maybe this is a sign the working out is paying off? The scale doesn't see a difference really, but maybe I'm losing inches. 👍

That's always a good sign you're losing weight. You're probably gaining muscle mass and losing body fat. Are you weighing yourself at the same time everyday?

Basically, but I weight myself late at night after the whole day's eating... so....

Rock on! I can't wait to get out and start running again.

(I'm not very cold tolerant, so I'm very much a fairweather jogger. And by "jog," I mean struggle through a mile.)

Yeah, I hate running in the cold and the treadmill is just not the same. These temperatures are abnormally high for this time of year though, so it probably won't happen until next month 🙁

I totally know what you mean. When I began working out consistently a few years back I worked out like at 11pm. This was supposed to be hours before my bedtime, but I never managed to get to sleep after a work out. I've never been a morning person and I am seriously trying to change that. I hope that I feel my day is productive after I manage to become a morning person.

Also, most medical schools have early morning classes. My experience with early classes is that I rarely if ever make it to them. It would be nice to change that trend so that I don't fall behind and get lazy in August.

👍 Congrats. Hard work and persistence usually pay off. Now you just have to keep at it.

Yeah, I always weigh myself right after I wake up and go to the bathroom in the morning.

Although you should be gauging your progress by how you look and feel rather than how much you actually weigh.

+1

Some days, I feel noticeably slimmer even though nothing really different happened the day before. I'm still not sure why this happens.

i am not really a morning person either and would like to wake up at like 11/12 everyday ideally. but sports trainings in high school were always in the mornings and afternoons, so my body is programmed to not be able to work out late at night. some of my friends go the the gym at 12 at night. i just don't feel like i can push myself as hard and have such a strenous work out as i do during the day and yet i like sleeping in. 😕

During sophomore year of college I would go for a 3-4 mile run every night at about 1 or 2 am.

To me, there's something exhilarating about being so physically active while everyone else is asleep.

Hah, wow. I just like being up and active when it's calm and peaceful. Campus on Sunday mornings is great for that.

I'm NOT a morning person at all, but I get up early for 8o'clock work/class and have for a couple years... so mornings at med school won't be too difficult. The upside to early classes is you aren't there as late at night.

yeah i'm actually more than halfway there 3/5. i'm sorry about the grade, but it doesn't really matter anymore

I use the wii fit as my glorified scale. It does a great job of tracking my weight progress

It's funny.. I weigh on a regular scale, and on the wiifit balance board. The balance board shows weight loss, the scale doesnt. But I like the wiifit better anyway.

Where else can you get a scale that plays games (fun games, not mind games) with you?!

TOP!

have you guys withdrawn from most of your schools that you haven't heard back on? i'm thinking about doing that this weekend. it's unlikely i will get an interview and i need to decide by march probably where i'm going because i'm leaving the country and i would like to know before i leave for sure

I haven't... I'm waiting to see if I indeed get an interview. I just like to be able to tell them "no".

dam missed top by one. haha. remember most floor scales are inaccurate. also, they become less sensitive really quickly coz of gravity. so just trust the wii 👍

I found the same thing! My wii fit says I've lost a good amount of weight. My regular scale hasn't budged (but I only check that once every 2 weeks)

I did. Although I still get interview invites from some of them. I just got one today from Meharry even though I withdrew a month ago... maybe I am not withdrawing correctly

i read this too. it's like finally, but it's not going to deter jim carrey and his girlfriend and i'm sure many others out there.

did you see my lineout top earlier ryserr?

haha, no i missed it!. Nice one tho!!!
