C'mon, you know you wanna. It runs straight through from 10 am to 2 pm.

Bacchus, that DOES look like fun...

Who wants to work for me today.

"William Carey Admissions, how may I help you" x 6,000

If you guys write my paper on Renoir and his depictions of class in La Loge, Au Bal a la Moulin de la Galette, and Le Dejeuner des Canotiers, then sure I will go to work/ class for you...

Well, at least now you work on it with a better-rested brain?👍:luck:

True... I am fresh and full of ideas. Okay, time to get off SDN so that I can actually use this brain fresh and full of ideas😀

I'll do it if you sit in my office and wait for IT to fix my ridonculous laptop. I swear, it's worse than waiting for the cable guy.

Usually, you do better "fixing" your computer yourself around here. If theres a serious problem, we have one guy in IT who actually answers the phone... (of course he's sorta new, hasnt been there long enough to be fully useless yet)

Our IT department is so scetchy... they keep the door locked and watch movies on a big screen while they refuse to answer the phone. GRR.

did you watch the grey's anatomy when christina fell in love with the derms, they got massages and water with fresh raspberries in it hehe.

i'm sorry, at least its nearly over! my midterm was really bad today too, so let's hope that i at least graduate

i really hope your midterm turns out ok... and god i wish derm were like that...

- Ah, funky, good luck with your ATM card. Sounds like it got resolved pretty quickly, but still, that's no fun 🙁

- We have a Sonic in Florida but I don't ever eat there.

(Sobering food for thought if you're in the mood, and no it doesn't require a subscription to pubmed

😍 I love being a part of this thread. It's nice to know how the future doctors of America think (since I know comparatively few IRL).

haha agreed. I love talking with all you guys and actually being able to talk about being doctors for as long as we wnat without getting tired of it.
also, that article is pretty cool, but also makes me worry lol. there is so much unknown about being a doctor....

OK, gym time!

Good luck, everyone! We're nearly, nearly there.

My plan is also to fill out the FAFSA form this weekend. 🙂xf🙂

So much to do.

whoo im going to the gym today too!!! my friends and I are planning on making this a weekly thing.. some cardio and some swimminh😳🙂

Gooooooo gym! Sounds like fun!

The FAFSA? Not as much fun. I will, nonetheless, be joining you, so there's celebration to be had in that!

I've never even seen our IT department, they don't allow people in there.

Basically, I'm trying to have this software installed on a new laptop (they replaced my old one against my will since they said it was too old). Now the software doesn't work on the new one and they don't know why. It's been back and forth for weeks now.

2 top reasons YOUR IT dept is sketchy as well...🤣

thanks ar! the first two went really well, i did okay on the third one and still waiting to get two back. i'm getting a massage today, birthday present from friend 🙂 then going to gym

Why did I stay up until 3AM talking with Mr. Nola?

So much to do! :scared::scared:

I hate that semi-panicky, kind of depressed feeling. At least it will be over in a few hours or less.

Yup, it's great to be able to work out all my neuroses online instead of projecting them onto family and friends 😛

Plus, no one here is competing against each other, so people are more willing to help (unlike the gunners at my school).

You guys will be SO glad when it's done. I promise 🙂

FAFSA wasn't so bad. It took me an hour from start to finish. Just make sure you have all the appropriate documents before you start, otherwise it becomes a major hassle.

Wait, your friend is giving you a massage as a birthday present or he/she bought you one at a massage parlor?

don't panic! that won't help. make a plan ...

Ahhh, ok! Hopefully he doesn't wake up/have to go to class/have to go to work any time soon.

Sadly, here I am. But only briefly, for I am off to class.

Yeah, I did one of my worst procrastination jobs ever last night... my Intro to Music History exam won't actually be hard; I just didn't start studying (like, at all) until 1:15 or so, and even then I couldn't pry myself off SDN

:laugh:I allways have trouble prying myself away from SDN on test nights.

Good luck on the exam

🙁 I just realized that work is starting to pile up. I thought I had a single exam next week, but turns out I will have two on the same day, so I will have to ban myself from SDN, facebook and all the other distractions.

Ouch!

I'm sorta looking forward to starting class next week and sorta not.

That sucks.🙁

I'll probably give myself a temporary SDN ban for the first week of March due to exams.

Don't worry. Breathe. It is okay!😀

For some reason, I frequent SDN more during when I have to study/ do my papers than when I have nothing else to do...

If you can do this, I will marvel at your self control😎
Ouch!

Next quarter is gonna suck... one of my classes conflicts with the other, so I will have to miss 2 hours of my Turkish class every week😱🙁😡

In other news... I cannot get started on my paper... usually once I get started I am in my zone and continue writing until I am done... but not right now....🙁

One last thing before I leave: I feel like everyone I've talked to that's been accepted to medical school is really worried about how they'll 'make it' academically...(and I am no exception).

I guess the irony is that we're supposedly among the 'best and the brightest' (hence why we were accepted among applicants).

Last quarter I asked berk to ban me for a while so I could study, but she said that the mods cannot do this...

Yeah, ok, I made the plan and executed it.

Time for class!

Thanks for the support, blues 🙂.

Bye.
Now I'm going to finish up my LOI for P&S and all the withdrawal letters.

I agree... I am so afraid of being the one who cannot handle medical school... But my sister reassures me saying that once you are in, you will want to study because you have so much to do, and if you study well enough you will get through.

EDIT: Speaking of medical school:

Honestly, count me as the oddball: I'm not concerned about this part. I probably should be, but I'm not.

I have done trimesters of 15 hours (the most you can take in a tri) along with two online classes (put me to 21 hours) and studied all of the mcat material (and that was before my sciences, so i was basically taking all 8 of those classes at the same time) at once. A multitude of information doesn't overwhelm me and I tend to be a good memorizer.

Now watch, come September I'll be freaking - but as of right now, I'm more worried about the whole moving to a new area, meeting new people (I have a bit of social phobia), and settling into a new routine than I am about the school work. I can DO schoolwork. I'm good at that. I can't wait to get thrown to the wolves

I love to study - and when it's something I want to learn, I can spend all day in it.

Back in the MCAT days, I was putting in 20 hours a day between class and MCAT studying. Can't say I MISS those days, but they weren't god awful.

And I was voted "Miss Time Management" at our senior funny awards. I can find five minutes in my day that no one else knows exists. (So yes, I'll be the one studying in the caf...and the hallway... and the lounge... and wherever else)

My mom is amazing. I attribute my mad time management skills to her. 😍

I think it's a fairly common feeling, since you don't quite know what you're getting into yet and you hear all these horror stories, so you just start thinking the worst. But, if you look at the numbers, nearly everyone who matriculates will graduate, so the odds are in our favor 🙂

I guess you just have to get yourself banned by saying lewd and disgusting things, funky

Before the MCAT and application process I would have been confident. However, this long process has broken me and I really have to pull it together so I can get out of this rut we all love, senioritis.

 Don't encourage him. We wouldn't want him to go overboard and get a perma-ban, would we.

This thread is insane. The 10,000th post was only a little over five weeks ago, so there are over 250 posts in here every day.

Yes and most of them are mine. Hah. Answering a phone and watching a computer lends itself to lots of SDN time.

Especially since most other "fun" websites are blocked/banned/quote-timed

(We get an hour of "quota-time" per day...for fun websites...)

If only they knew how much time I spend here.
