Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
So how does the Financial Aid package operate?
I was told we don't need to do anything once we get the award notification? ie, we just start going to college, and then we'd get a big check in the mail...somehow? doesn't sound right...

and OMBD, and rraska...i am with ya guys on the Peds! I mean....just LOOK a this VIDEO! how can anyone possibly watch this and NOT wanna do pediatrics!?

 yeah I've seen that kid

makes me want to have kids of my own

That's important! 👍 I was just wondering because of your signature. "Too expensive medical school", lol. Though most on this board would argue that there's no such thing as a "too cheap medical school"! 😉

I fixed my signature lol 😉

what's up guys!!!!

It's Frrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrriday!!!! I always do Big Brother Big Sister on Friday afternoons so I leave work early.

hahahahahahhahahaha OMBD...how much time do you have left at work again?:laugh::laugh:

I don't really want a traditional engagement ring, because i feel like I won't be able to wear it much in our line of work.

Instead, I like this idea:

Ring 1

Ring 2

The middle ring would be my engagement ring, the outside would be the wedding set.

umm this is kinda random lol. Are you getting engaged?

off to the gym I go!!!

you roadrunner...you play tennis or golf?

I do that girly dreaming stuff every so often... rings, wedding dresses, crib sets....

Haha. 😛 I might skip the engagement ring part altogether, unless we can get one that's pretty inexpensive.

Honestly, I'm not really looking forward to a wedding. The marriage, yes. The wedding, not really.

The marriage is for me and the husband. The wedding is for everyone else 😛.

I love weddings. I hate receptions.

But there's food at the reception!!

Of course, when it's *my* reception, I'll have to plan out the food 🙁. Wedding planning = not for me.

Maybe I'll just go to the courthouse and get married there or something.

I figure that's good, since I probably won't have time to plan anything for the rest of my life

A very good point you bring up.

I think I'm a little weird in my views about weddings but in the first place, I haven't been to many of them and in the second, my parents never had a wedding (they were married in court or something). And in the third place, I don't really know what church I would go to. And in the fourth place, it just seems like spending valuable money that could be used for things like raising children (obviously wedding =/= extravagant unless you have pre-decided that).

Mostly, I'd just like someone to say that I'm married to [insert future husband here] and then have some good food afterwards.

Haha, good times.

I want the whole big princess wedding. Of course, the only-child thing helps, as my mother too has been planning for a looooong time

I've noticed among my friends that getting engaged is the latest trend. I literally have had 13 friend get engaged in the past 3 months. Ugh.

I'm just gonna head to Vegas to get married and have a family BBQ so they can give me stuff when its my turn...ironically he's the one who wants to have a real wedding (when the time comes).
I've actually seen most of the nurses I work with still wear their big rocks of engagement rings, though its funny to see them wrestle with the gloves so they don't cut them up when they put them on 🙂

I already went through this phase. Most of my friends are married now. I was in 4 weddings within 7 months at one point. CRAZY.

Oh well, payback will be fun..

By then they will all be older and need babysitters (for the passal of kids they each will have) for my wedding activities.

Wow! I had 3 friends get engaged over the course of 3 days (in December) and I started wondering if this was a find-your-partner-musical-chairs season 😉.

However, 2 of them broke off the engagement. 😉

Note: It is generally a bad idea to get engaged to someone who has been in jail on and off over the last 10 years. Just a thought.

Big time bummer funky. Probably feel like this...:boom:
Yup
😱
exactly
...
Oh, man!

Completely non-recoverable?! No extra sample to test?
I basically have 6 weeks to fix everything.... and then hopefully I will be okay...
Just to make you feel better, I will share some of my own FML-worthy stories:

- Mailman. And if you have no idea what I'm talking about: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?p=8008797&#post8008797
- When I was 17 I hit a parked car. In my own driveway.
- I rendered a GC/MS machine at my undergrad "inoperable" for 2 1/2 months. Mind you, I went to a very non-science oriented liberal arts college and we probably had less than 5 machines total - I broke my professor's personal equipment. I still have no idea how it happened.
- I will in 4 months, in fact, be a red-headed step child.

So (at least attempt to) buck up, camper! 😀
Thanks. My stupid car story is during the test at the DMV, I was reversing the car, and scratched the car next to me... Thankfully, the guy whose car I scratched did not mess up his car, rather, it was my car that lost the paint...

...oh noes. Guess me and the boyfriend are dunnnzzzooo

:scared: Carrot Top is scary.

Sometimes I wish my boyfriend was a less private person. It's a little annoying when he's going to a friend's birthday party or something and they only invited him and it's a small group so he doesn't bring me. We've been dating for two years! Sigh. Thankfully it only happens like... three times a year, maybe more. And I guess I don't usually want to go since I don't know the people... But it'd be nice to have the option of going!

(His close friends and family and people who are in my social circles know, of course. But he has some circles that I don't interact with or hang out with so they wouldn't know unless he outright told them, or he actually had it on his facebook page).
