I am good, a lil sad cuz my dog that I got, we had to return him to the owners. We think he might have parvo and we can't afford the vet right now 🙁🙁🙁. I kinda miss him!

I like So. Cal better. Maybe I am bias cuz it is home but..............I just like it more. Nor Cal was cool and it was good to me but it is time to get back home!

my family lived there. i was there a lot for the beginning of the summer and last semester. :laugh: but they moved...
they lived close to richards blvd next to in n'out...a couple mins from campus

Yes ma I do! I love everything from the history of the school, tradition, mission of the school, DC, family environment, tough love of faculty, the way they prepare you for real life situations, it's a Historical Black College/University(HBCU). For African Americans, Howard is like the premier school! I just really want to go there as you can see!

Can you say something to me in Spanish?

Hi all,

For those of you who've looked at the UCONN secondary or have already submitted it, how did you approach the first question "describe your motivation to become a physician"? I'm asking because clearly I spent a lot of time in my PS talking about this. Is it standard to talk about a different experience or to talk more about what you've already talked about? I'm really confused.

Also, in the UCONN secondary it says to submit the secondary/recommendations within 3 weeks from receiving the secondary. My issue is that I have the MCAT coming up and I wanted to get that out of the way before I started the secondaries...that might be about 4-5 weeks from now. When it says you need to submit within 3 weeks of receiving the secondary does that strictly mean what it says? (I know it sounds like a silly question) but the deadline will not have passed within 3 weeks for their secondary so I'm confused.

1) University of Iowa
2) Loyola
3) Creighton
4) Drexel
5) Albany

?

I know that some of these schools screen primaries.

🙁 Wish I was in Cali. My best friend is moving back to LA next week. If I come down to visit her I'll have to stop by and meet you guys sometime! Anyone in Virginia or DC want to schedule a get-together sometime?

I've gotten Albany's. And Loyola won't be out for a few weeks (they do screen). No one's heard from Drexel yet (I don't think they screen).

We can trade places cuz I wanna be in DC! Don't get me wrong, I love California, but I am ready to experience life elsewhere.
 
I love California - my college is in Santa Barbara, but I'm spending summer at home - Oregon. At least it's never too hot...I'm all about the nice temperate climate. Anyone else looking at OHSU?
 
I've always wanted to visit California... I'm near about as far as you can get. (Not quite but almost).

My little cousin had to have an emergency appendectomy yesterday. poor kid. she's doing well though.

went to the new fondue restaurant for a friends birthday. OMG cheese and chocolate dipped things are the best. weigt watchers definitely not approved.

Mailing off my 3rd secondary tomorrow. Alabama, TN, and Vandy show the love!!! 🙂

Creighton and albany...Drexel, iowa, and loyola arent out yet...the latter 2 screen presec.

yes sir. My wife and I are both from LA. I am about to move back home in a couple of weeks. We have house in Compton. My mom lives in Carson.

Sweet...my parents actually used to live in Carson a long time ago. They still have the house down there...it is really close to CSUDH

Hey y'all. Wow, lot's of Cali peeps. I'm in Boston, but I go to LA for work about once a month. It's neat that a bunch of you might meet up. 🙂 I'm looking forward to running into some of you on the interview trail (mostly since that means I'll be getting interviews. 😀 Kidding.)
 
Good morning '13ers!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Busy morning in the lab for me here... I can't believe that July is basically over. I have a personal goal of finishing all of my secondaries that I have come in by July 31st... Thursday, ah! I need to get moving, still 5 left.
