Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. 🙂

When I was in middle school, we had this "monkey club" at my church youth group, where only select people were invited. Each of us was known as a different colored monkey (or "monki" as we spelled it). I was the "Green Monki."

Oh, the things we do when we're pre-adolescents.

Don't worry about it. We all did things in childhood that we would never tell anyone about😉 But yah, what's funny is that I hated monkeys as a child, and when I reached 9th grade it all changed...

Hola!

At first I was wondering why no one was on tonight, and then I realized that it was Friday night, and everyone else has a life. I really should stop the internet research, cuz I keep ending back at SDN...

I have a life.. But I also have SDN mobile.. And when you're out with boring people it's useful..

👍Gig 'em!!👍

Still got an interview invite pending, but I'm not expecting any more after that. SO pumped.

Yah Bob! Woot for Texas! Pianola should also chime in on this sentiment!😀

Hehe. Texas will always have a special place in my heart for being my first (and perhaps only!) OOS acceptance 😍.

YES. if a&m is where you end up going, i'll be a first year kid with you!

Got the UTHSC San Antonio prematch offer yesterday. I'm super excited as this was my second year applying. It's been a long road. I'm still going to my UTSouthwestern interview next week though, even though I'm pretty set on UTSA.

Congrats on UTHSCSA! Don't discount Southwestern. It was awesome when I went. Good luck!

Hey all, I am also going to be a Class of 2013er :hardy:. I'm going back and forth between UTHSCSA, my hometown school, and UTSW, an awesome school that I was lucky to get accepted into.

Wow... really, I haven't posted on this thread since officially becoming a member of the 2013 club?:hardy: I'm still waiting on my top choices, but it feels SOOOO good to know I'll be somewhere next year!

yay!! congrats guys!
and re: watches, i am seriously considering going to the "megastore" in times square and seeing what they have. so many of the swatch watches are soo pretty.

Good afternoon everybody!

Hey BD2B, how was Drew?

OMG OMG OMG! You're back!!! :soexcited:

So...how did it go?

It was absolutely AMAZING!!!!!!! I love CDU!!! Their program is something special. They have sooo many great things going on there, well here for the community. They also have such a family environment, which is one of the things I loved the most. It was a real relaxed day. I didn't even really feel like I was at a medical school interview. It felt like home. I interviewed with the dean of admissions and she is freakin' awesome! She made me feel so comfortable. It was like we were having a conversation. I had a lot of fun. I am going to be praying like a mad man that I get that great phone call. It was also exciting because we were the first interview group. God is sooooo AWESOME! I am so grateful for this opportunity. I believe in my heart that I will hear some great news. I am speaking that in FAITH!!! They said we should hear back in about 4 weeks, so we shall see. FREAKING AWESOME!!! CDU, CDU, CDU!!!!

Thanks Berk!!! They said hopefully by the second week in December. I will be praying like crazy! This is extremely exciting! 😀

I love it! Now, the fun part...we wait!

DUN, DUN, DUUUUUUNNNNNNNNN.......................Oh yes, the always fun and exciting part, the wait! It will be good. I am good with whatever happens. All I ever asked for was at least one chance to show somebody how bad I want this and that I will make a great doctor and I got it. So I am a happy camper even if I don't get anymore invites. Let the good times roll baby!!!!

I'm glad you interviewed with the dean of admissions!!! That means your interview means even more...and I'm sure you're a wonderful person to talk to so she probably enjoyed the conversation. YAY BD2B! :soexcited:

Did you realize that everyone in the c/o 2013 thread has been successful this cycle? We're wonderful 😛

I hope and pray that is true and carries over to the adcom meeting. When the interview was over and I was leaving she told me that she was very impressed with me and my application. That made me feel so good! It was like a breath of fresh air because she kept a straight face pretty much through the entire interview. She is really good at that, had me kind of worried the whole time! Hahaha!

We are definitely a bunch of wonderful people! 😀 I'm thankful that I get to be around a bunch of wonderful people. Do you think I should send a thank you card and an email or just a thank you card?

I would do both if I were you! Why not, right?

Yeah, I can dig it. I live literally down the street from the school, do you think I should hand deliver my thank you card? Don't want to be too much of a bug-a-boo. LOL!

A girl at my UCLA interview wrote the thank you card in the "waiting room" after her interview and then promptly gave it to the admissions office peoples as she was leaving. So hand delivering is not bad... at least I do not think so...

haha that I don't know. I think it'd be nice to hand deliver it...but, ask others. What do you think?

I personally want to hand deliver because I want them to know how appreciative I am and I want them to see my efforts. Plus, a MSII that I know told me that it is good to be seen. I just don't want to be too aggressive.

No, that wouldn't be aggressive! It would be nice...I think. I personally would appreciate it 😛

That white URM thread is getting really exhaustive. Anybody here have any good news? I need to be cheered up and I know I can rely on my folks in here.

Yeah, I have good news. I heard this guy named BD2B just had a really great interview with UCLA/Drew's Dean of Admissions. That means we'll probably see one more addition to the c/o 2013 thread in a few weeks 👍
