Yeah, it does to me, too. I'm definitely waiting for my relationship to go through some of its hardest challenges (including med school, loans, etc.) before I'm willing to say "this is it".

thank you. I only recently discovered multiple quotes and its my way of catching up on 5 pages I guess.
my bf is applying to chemistry phd programs with emphasis on theoretical/computational and physical chemistry.

yeah, and i also dont want it messing up financial aid for medical school.
if he were to propose to me now, I am pretty sure I would say yes in a heartbeat. we have been through more than 21 year olds are supposed to have gone through and we have fought to stay together through the hard times (sometimes he was fighting hard enough for the both of us and thank god he did because i may not have🙁), but we get through and when the gray clears, we are so happy to have each other...:biglove:also, im not opposed to being engaged for 4 years :laugh:
 
so i have a small dilemma that I would like your guys' opinions on.
I withdrew from tufts post acceptance via the withdrawal button on their webpage and I have received an email confirmation of my withdrawal. HOWEVER, i have not received my $100 deposit back yet and Im wondering if I should send them an email formally withdrawing once more and asking about the deposit?

Haha, no I'm just saying I want to be 100% sure that my conflict resolution skills with Mr. Nola continue to improve themselves. Right now things are blissful and wonderful -- but what happens when I become a stressed out nutball? Will he still like me then? Will we be able to resolve conflicts and help each other out in a normal way?

You could probably call the office on Monday...might be the best way to go about it. E-mail tends to take quite a while...

I would. I don't think it would offend anybody, and even if it did it doesn't matter since you're withdrawing anyway.

I woke up at 7, when I was supposed to wake up at 5... I should not have stayed up so late... But no, I was not late, but I wanted to go running... Unfortunately it is still raining here, so I cannot....

But why would it affect finaid? Shouldn't it make you get more money since you are both gonna be in debt?

haha! That's the last 3 years of my undergraduate research (sans the brief stint in actual biochemistry work 😛)

Tell him to go to Caltech and work under Ahmed Zewail

So I got a haircut this morning and when I got home, I was astonished to see how many white hairs I have for a relatively young person. I'm afraid of what my head will look like at the end of med school and residency :scared:

Anyone else have this problem?

My hair is thinning.... that is a lot worse... I would take white hair over no hair anyday.... But yeah, I started getting white hair when I was 15... Thank you parents for providing such sucky hair genes...🙁

Yeah white hair >> thinning hair for sure. I don't quite remember when my dad's hair started changing color though. I'll have to ask I guess.

My dad told me that his hair started thinning at my age also, and my mom told me that she started getting grey/white hairs at 17...🙁

science phd's get about $25-30,000 a year stipend...

So I had the best dream ever! I got 6 interview invites in the same day from all the schools I still want to interview at. And I was able to schedule them back to back so that the entire trip costed $500. It was such a wonderful dream

Yeah I know...but yesterday I counted the schools that I haven't heard back from yet and ended up with 6. And in my dream, everytime I got an email invite, I would call my mom and both of us would jump up and down and scream for a while before the next email invite came. This started early in the morning and ended with a JHU invite at 6 pm.

Happy Saturday everyone!!!!!!!!! I hope you all had a good week. We had our first rugby game last night and we won 45-0, so thats a good start to the season to say the least! Just checkin in to say whats up to my favorite SDNers! 👍
 
submitted my fafsa with estimated figures.. also called H&R block to schedule a consultation about my taxes. i feel like ive been getting screwed up the past 2 years because of a 1098-T form...so Im hoping Monday morning I will gain some insight.

sigh, im glad im being slightly productive today, although still havent eaten anything.
 
yay ryserr. that's great!

I need to get to the taxes... but after working in fin aid, I know its practically useless to use estimates (have to turn in all the tax forms and stuff when they are complete, do verification paperwork, etc), so I'm waiting til we file. Should be soon.
