Pianola, I'm in your shoes (or can try to fit into them). I have my seminar tomorrow and its not a huge deal (1 cr class) but I don't want to look like an idiot and right now I have about 5 mins of a required 20 mins for a speech.
 
I used to be a math major...since I have the background my rates are somewhat steep. The HW assignment will cost you 10 tops not 5. 😉

Thanks, CRB. Yeah, it's one of 3 tests I have in this class. The only problem is that the material is so difficult (and so dense) that it's taking a long time to go through it.

I hope that medical school is at least somewhat simpler in what we have to understand. This molecular biology stuff is one huge, complicated alphabet soup.

Though its stressful getting through a few dense pages, I do better in classes with that material. For some reason, my attention span has become progressively shorter , thus making it hard to study/sponge all the material in classes with too much material. I really need to start working on that, so that I can do well in August.

I love something with a good balance of protein, and dietary fibers; egg whites on wheat, or veggies/apples and??? Adding some sugar to your coffee might be a good idea as well. Though I find that too much coffee and (especially) too much sugar make me crash. Definitely avoid fatty foods.

Wow, people actually use Gadolinium... I thought it was just one of those elements that everyone had to memorize in Chem class and then subsequently forgot it unless they were on Jeopardy or something...

Yeah, I think if I have the right motivating factors around, a few pages a day is manageable. But I've just gotten kind of behind this semester because I've found this really wonderful, amazing guy that I've only mentioned 2 billion times in this thread.

Yeah, sipping coffee a little at a time is usually ok with me. Also tea is good. I may make some tea in a bit.

I just got a spoonful of peanut butter. Yum! I'm eating it slowly.

I think they key to staying up late with food is to eat the food as slowly as possible so that your body doesn't have a digestion crisis (where you start feeling an intense urge to 'rest and digest').
 
I'm more worried about not having enough than anything. I'm extremely confident and assured of my speaking abilities (I'd make a good PR person), but I want to have enough so I don't look like an idiot. That's my fear, not screwing up the speaking.
 
I could cry. One of my friends at [insert school name] just told me to write a letter of interest to his school if I want to be admitted.

I'm SO tired, man. I want to go to this school but I also want to move on with my life.

WHY is it not good enough that I wrote tons of essays for these people?

Back to studying. 🙁

EDIT: I have tremendous respect for schools that won't consider extra letters. I think all schools should adopt that policy.

Yeah, this is a very particular school. I was actually advised to write a letter by my interviewer when I was there but he said to write one "if I was waitlisted".

My friend doesn't want me to take any chances because he wants me to be at his school.

I really actually didn't need this tonight of all nights with as much studying as I have left.

I don't even know if this school has made a decision on me yet. It's entirely possible that they have.
 
I'm so friggen lucky, haha. The main point of my presented research (not my own) in the presentation is how relaxivity is enhanced, creating much stronger signals. I had no idea how this happened and I just found the explanation I needed, Hallelujah! :laugh:
 
I gave a presentation tonight, it went well! The audience was 90% female which made it feel odd to be a male speaker.

When are u supposed to be hearing back from this said school? if there's not a given time, why don't u call them before you go through the trouble of the LOI...

There's a given time, but it's coming soon. I guess I could call tomorrow and find out if decisions have already been made.

ugh midterm was pretty tough today! got another tomorrow at 8am. studying hard. anyone else in the same boat? also, my friend is in the dumps today and i remember someone once showing me this cool website where it says 'yourname' is great. or something encouraging. does anyone know what i am talking about. i think it's kinda cheesy but it'll cheer him up coz he'll find it kinda funny

I'm reading House of God for the first time since Junior year of college. Somehow, I understand so much more of it now, and I'm not even in med school yet.
