So the postdoc told me that I had the cleanest western blot he had ever seen before. It was completely blank. FML.

Haha, I was just reading fml so I thought this would be perfect. This did happen though...

wait!!! As in no background or no bands whatsoever!! Cause that would be kind of funny ( I know it sucks for you), but still a little bit funny.

Different strokes for different folks. To be fair, it may have just been my teacher. The most soft spoken and monotone lady ever. I spent alot of time on addictingames.com during that class.

To be fair, my PI has the new reagents but the post doc insisted we use his old stuff rather than using my PI's stuff... or maybe my protein [conc] is too low... and it sucks because I need to finish soon so that I can finish my thesis... and this is the last week I will be in lab for a while...

No, my PI said it did not matter... I guess it did... plus I was kind of lazy and did not want to make the standard curve for the bradford... Yup I wasted two days because I was too lazy to do something that would take only one hour...

Well, at least he knew about SDN, so hopefully that gave him a better chance than most...

I've always wondered what the average acceptance rate for someone on SDN vs. someone not on is.
 
I'm filling out need access and think I will make at least 1 mistake on the application. Do they check verify the information on needaccess?

Good news:

I am feeling much better. I had an acute case of colitis and a low grade infection in the colon. Also I got a new digital camera (MSRP $350 Canon Digital Elph for $110 at Circuit City blowout sale).

Bad news:

I didn't have a Hepatitis A vaccine for my trip to Nicaragua (which they didn't tell me I needed until now, even though it takes 2-4 weeks to become effective once injected 😡)- which means I'm going to have to be REALLY careful down there so I don't contract it. 🙁

I'm honestly more of a liquor person myself. Margaritas are my personal favorite, probably cuz they make the best here in Texas 🙂 Plus, they usually make them in a way that they don't look girly, which definitely helps 😛
