that thread pisses me off... the sense of entitlement among people really bothers me. "OMFG I have such a Fn amazing life story so I deserve to get top tier acceptance, waaah" STFU already.

Actually I like the OP's story, and the OP seems like a cool guy. I don't have any problem with what he's saying at all, as long as people realize that it's just a story, not a guide for the application process. What I have a problem with is people saying they should have gotten into med school like they know what med schools want better than the adcoms <shrug>
