how did you decide on this apt without seeing it? haha maybe becuase when i was looking I HAD to see each place bc most places weren't big enough to fit everything we needed lol

i recently found out/discovered that im allergic to latex gloves.. my hands get incredibly sweaty and start itching. i never had this before. im wondering if maybe i developed it from using the gloves for the past 4 years in chem labs like 17 hrs a week? but the purple gloves are nice :zip:
.. except M is too big and S is too small.. is there a S/M?

i want to start a poll.. how many of us have maxed out our credit card or used our debit card to a crazy limit (like a couple of dollars left on it) shopping even when we know we shouldnt? lol i really really want to buy my stethoscope but i have to wait until my credit card isn't maxed out.... :wtf:+pissed+

Wow, that is really close....I was multimodal too, and most people are, but they told us to concentrate on our highest number. But yours are really balanced.

I had a classmate that lives in my apartment complex call me at midnight last night to kill a cockroach. Definitely had nightmares about those last night.

hey guys, to those who know more about fitness and running, i've a question.

ive only recently started running (like have ran ~7 times total) and I'm up to 2.5 miles. will doing intervals (on the way back to start for now) help get my legs skinnier??

i have one little part left in my HIPAA and code of conduct training that should hopefully be relatively quick and then after i submit my health forms on monday (hopefully!) i will be done with my pre starting reqs!

My apt. is flippin big, I've never lived in such a massive place before..I think I can fit a love seat in my room. I don't know what to do with the space!! Its a 3 min. walk to school, central heating, and my roommate is a 2nd year so I can get the hookups on classes and teachers from him all year. Im super stoked. If you couldn't already tell 😀
 
We just floated the river with a bunch of people from my class, and I saved a guy named Dan (not with our group) from drowning. Drunk as an effin skunk. Dan the man. Couldn't handle the high life (the beer he was drinking as he submerged..) I was also surprised that i was the only one that jumped up to help him out of 40 medical students floating down the river in knee deep water :wtf:


On a separate note, I have also never been that wasted in the middle of the day. holy cow.


But, alas, party across town at a different university tonight. Pre-orientation actvities are pretty hard on the liver :meanie:

btw $450 a month is insane !! esp for a huge place. congrats 🙂

Pretty good. I am looking for a place to get good (read cheap... hey I am indian, what do you expect) furniture. I need a matress, boxspring, etc, and a desk, chair, and a small fridge. My roommate is a 6th year (M3... he just finished the PhD portion, and his paper his being reviewed for publication in Science😎), so I do not have to worry about anything else, since basically I am renting the room from him...

They should really hand those out starting a month before school. I'm fortunate enough to have plenty of money to cover moving and pre-med school living, but it's really inconsiderate of them to assume everyone does.

I had an ethics class where we discused a theory about how the more people are present at an emergency the less likely they are to help. The idea was that if a bunch of people are there everyone kind of assumes someone else is going to take charge.

Well, it was the place I liked the most from what I was learning about it online (closet to metro stop, price, etc) and then ONOY looked at it and really liked it, so I figured if it's good enough for him and his wife, it should be good enough for my roommate and me. There were pictures and floor plans too.

Only thing I'm not happy about is the carpeting. Going to have to buy a carpet cleaner. I'm a tiny bit OCD, and I'm a rabid "No shoes in my apartment!" person, but people forget/don't listen sometimes.

Currently in Milwaukee in an airport, waiting for my flight to St Louis. I'm exhausted. My red eye was just over 3 hours long so that's about how much sleep I got. I am so glad I got an air mattress already because I need a good rest tonight (and this afternoon). Chu has been good again.

Saying goodbye to Mr Quirks was much easier than last time in Turkey. I think we're getting better at this long distance thing. 🙂 Or we were just too tired to be emotional. :laugh:
 
👍, the only thing that is bothering me is that once I moved in I discovered that neither of the cable outlets in the living room work. The one in the dining area works and I can run a cable across the floor, but I've been trying to get them to fix the situation to no avail for the past 12 days now... but everything else is good 🙂 When you get here I'll show you my place.

Currently in Milwaukee in an airport, waiting for my flight to St Louis. I'm exhausted. My red eye was just over 3 hours long so that's about how much sleep I got. I am so glad I got an air mattress already because I need a good rest tonight (and this afternoon). Chu has been good again.

DrYoda, thats sooocheap!! jesus .. sometimes i wish i did change locations if only for the cheap rent. haha I was so excited when we found our studio, it was 550sq ft and only a little out of our price range ($2095) haha

but then i walk outside and there is life and everyone walks around and there is anything i want within walking distance and then i think "$2095 isnt thatttt bad" LOLOLOL

That sucks. I hope they fix it soon! I won't have a tv till the weekend so I guess I might not know till then. Have you set up internet yet?

I'm hanging out in the airport cause I got here early. My appointment's not till 1pm. 🙁 I am so looking forward to my nap! And then after my nap I'll hopefully have the energy to explore (and to start hunting craigslist for stuff!).

My internet is hooked up, so you are welcome to use it when you get here if you need to. About the cable, the outlet in the dining area actually works, which is why I have internet-- the problem is that I don't think it is reasonable or safe for them to expect me to run a 15 foot cable across the floor for people to trip on for the next year or two. It is definitely some false advertising BS if they do not end up fixing at least one outlet in the living room, because they didn't tell me that they weren't functional when I toured the apt. and signed the lease.
 
Just got back from a lovely trip down to the trash compactor with maintenance.😍



I HAVE KEYS AGAIN!!!!
