Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
you going to sinai? 😛

you'd hate me as a roommate-- i don't party, and i'm super neat and boring. all i do is watch TV and cook.

no, i can commute to miami. and i dont think i have ever hated anyone as a roommate, and i had some crazy ass ones. there was one vegan crossdressing australian dude that didn't really talk to me or any of the other roommates though. made me sad

Who's ready for some FOOTBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLL??!!

You don't sound like a bad roommate to me. Depending on what TV shows you watch.

i feel the type of TV i watch depends on my lifestyle. If i'm working 9-5+, then I can watch like serious stuff. If I'm studying with my own schedule, I like to watch dumb stuff thats on MTV or VH1

We'd be good roommates then. My roommates just watch stupid stuff and smoke weed all day. And one's of them is messy enough for 2 of them.

haha, good times. do you get your own room though, i had the same problem but the 3 of us shared a bedroom

Well then yours was way worse. I have my own room, I just sometimes feel uncomfortable in the living room with the awesome TV.

It also means I can't play my Wii much since it's in the living room and I don't have enough room for all of that stuff in my own room. Plus I have a really old TV and it won't look good on it.

i think there needs to be one roommate that doesnt party. it makes it more fun when you get them to party

What's everyone up to today??

my kids got demolished in basketball. they didnt understand how to penetrate the 2-3 zone. i kept drawing it up for them, but it's tough for them to adapt on the go.

other than that, watching football!

Wow, just realized quintuple post. Stupid internet.

im going to UC davis at the moment. UCLA still hasnt made a post-int decision (though its basically like harvard is to you i think im just dreaming lol). UCI has me on the waitlist and if they accept me i might go there over davis...but dont know. Even wisconsin i might go if they throw money at me. But that is doubtful though they do offer something like 30 half tuition scholarships and i think some full.

Really?

Ok, you know that thing where you hold control and roll the mouse wheel to change the size of the stuff on the screen?

Well, I somehow managed to do that on my laptop without a mouse. My mouse is 100 miles away. How do I unenlarge the screen?

Does your laptop have a scroll thing on the right of the trackpad? Mine does. Hold control and move your finger up/down on the right side of the pad.

Swing the ball, kids! Or I guess dribble to the middle.

the clock runs even when the ball isn't snapped, though

so a lot of time ends up being the players standing around huddling and what not

here's some links to it:

Okay, I see what you're getting it with the clock running, but it should still be more than 11 minutes.

I would guess maybe about 40 minutes. I don't think 49 minutes of the games is clock running. Just look at the number of plays both teams run. I'm not trying to argue with the Wall Street Journal (okay maybe I am) but even watching a game and taking into account clock runoff, there has to be more than 11 minutes of action.

Each team runs about what? 60 plays a game? So at 120 plays total, if each play averages 6 seconds each, that's 12 minutes. It's not too unreasonable

FiOS FTW

Yah its a wonderful feeling knowing all this bs is over and you dont have to sell yourself anymore🙂. I wish i could plan but UCLA just takes forever to decide on applicants. Its weird to think in 6 months or less well all be M🙂.

not. over. yet. GAH.

Obamas coming to my school tomorrow. Bummer that I'm in Florida.

he spoke at my sister's school in 2008 in place of teddy. snipers everywhere.

i saw him in the primaries at washington square, the guy is a rockstar but he doesn't really say much

however, i would guess that since you go to a school in MA, he's gonna drop a lot of knowledge

i doubt he can save coakley at this point.

im gonna be so wasted at this UNC interview

wear a wig too!

Ctrl-0, or view -> zoom

I wonder who is going to be our keynote speaker for graduation. It better not be someone stupid.

It's already annoying that I'm going to be there in the first place.

Football's fun, but those commercials every 5 minutes is so annoying.

If you figure a 10 play scoring drive can take like 5 minutes off the clock, and each play takes about 6 seconds, that's 1 minute of action time per 5 minutes of game time. Multiply it out and you come to 12 minutes.

I guess so. That's really crappy. One of the things I hate about football.

That's one reason why basketball and hockey win as far as action is concerned. Plus, football is a possession game where a team can win without doing anything at the end of the game. In hockey, anything can happen at anytime = more exciting on the whole.

I love football. I never looked at it like this until bobsmith mentioned it, but it doesn't really change my opinion of it.

I still love football, especially college football - but thinking about it that way does piss me off a little and kind of makes me feel cheated as a fan.

But, I'm still a fan so I'll deal with it just as all sports fans deal with stupid stuff they don't like.

inside scoop from Jimmie Johnson? Vick to Carolina?

Awww, how old are the kids? I take it you're a coach?

😱 blasphemy!

although I think the wall street journal had an article this week that talked about how there's only ~11 minutes of actual game action during a 3 hour football game

Not blasphemy! I just don't get all that excited over sports, especially football.

And... the 11 minute thing in televised football would not surprise me.

x 10000000000000.

Crazy!!

I've heard Rams rumors, too.

OK, nice. Most teams play man against you guys?

yea, we play zone. and this was the first time we saw zone (6th game)

making kids shoot the deep ball at this age is like watching a bad movie.

Alright, it's almost game time!
