i've been called a commie too! i like soccer, i have a friend who doesn't like soccer and thinks only communist countries play soccer, so she called me a commie.

well I have been disappointed with the russian skaters this time around...maybe they are adoptive russians...real russians DO NOT FALL! lol
I know it sounds silly but there are some really closed minded people out there and I have been the object of so many of those comments that even when ppl joke about it-doesn't feel too good.
btws...feel free to make any "in soviet russia..." jokes you may find suitable those are hilarious!

btws...if there was any mistaking it-I am exceedingly proud of being Russian. I am also exceedingly proud to call Georgia, USA my home for the past 10 years 🙂
🙁

<3 you taty!
I <3 you too sammie!!!

Please don't. My brother did that once. It was scary.

But it usually only happens when your blood sugar's low. 😛
Oh that's not good.

I just had WAY too much sugar. I loaded up on the free eclairs and cake at our mardi gras party.. Then all the whipped cream for my m&m domination.

So. Much. Sugar.

Crashing so hard.

ah, i see now. i'm terribly sorry someone else insinuated something negative about your heritage.

and, of course i was joking. 🙂

the montage was all dark, had serious music playing, and the skater just seemed really serious. not happy-go lucky, "yay i'm in the olympics." i watch wayyy too many spy shows/movies (think alias, borne) so it just screamed dark intense russian spy movie. that's all. sorry if it struck a nerve.

Ok, first monster multi-post...here it goes...

Oh mann just got the big first acceptance today so I figured I'd come by some previously foreign territory over here haha. Congrats to everyone officially into c/o 2014!

Congratulations!

I tried to image search for any cool pic to put for 'aye' and apparently this creepy, creepy thing is called an aye. .

This animal must feel so unloved.

yeah brazil gets the world cup in 2014 and then the summer olympics in 2016. that place is going to be nuts

2016...we'll be in the middle of residency. Unless you're doing neurosurgery, then you gots a loooooong way to go.

I only felt a little weird in Avatar right in the beginning. You get used to it after a few minutes. If you do want to see it, don't miss it before it leaves the theater because I doubt the in-home experience can come close!

I definitely sat too close for Avatar, but the 3D was pretty kick-ass.

Yeah, I agree. I don't get why he would have been pointed out as being too heavy for that flight.

However, once, I had to sit in the middle seat a few months ago on a flight in between two very very overweight people. Parts of their bodies were overflowing on top of me for the entire flight. It was sooo uncomfortable.

😱. Not a good mental image.

Know what I miss? Frozen Sprite. It's so good.

Like, in popsicle form? Yum.

Holy crap, I just saw the Azerbaijani pants from the Olympic ceremony.

I want some. Now.

Aren't they incredible!? A sure way to stand out on the slopes. I am sure of it.

uh oh... you might be replacing metallica as thread-killer

😛

I think I held this title once. Maybe I still do.

i really want taco bell for dinner

Steak quesadillas. Mmmmm.

I have been sleeping btw.

👍 Very good. Now you just need to do it on a daily basis!

those are nice.
i also like any multiple of 5.

btws...check out my new avatar you penguin haters!

I like it! It's definitely channeling Land Before Time for me.

I have PBL for the first time in a month tommorow :barf:

That took forever to do. I gotta go wash the dishes now.

I think I'm going into a diabetic coma.

So much whipped cream...
Me too. And I said this first.
Please don't. My brother did that once. It was scary.

Oh.

I had 4 pancakes with real maple syrup, hashed browns, scrambled eggs, bacon, and carmelized banana cheesecake a la mode.

Soooo good. But now I'm gonna die.

The New York Knicks are finalizing a deal to acquire Houston Rockets forward Tracy McGrady, an NBA source told SI.com.
The framework of the deal involves sending McGrady to New York for forward Jared Jeffries, guard Larry Hughes and forward Jordan Hill. The Knicks and Rockets have agreed to swap 2011 first round picks and the Knicks will send the Rockets their first round pick in 2012.
The only outstanding issues involve protection for the draft picks.
The deal could be completed as early as tomorrow.

i love the deal, minus giving up a first round pick.

I made an "Indian" curry soup for dinner. Didn't taste that Indian, but it looks like I'm not going to starve in med school after all.

That's a lot of picks. They've really gone all-in on getting either LeBron or Wade; if they don't, they're going to suck until at least 2016

yea if they dont get lebron it will suck. i will stop watching the nba and send hate mail to bron

wow unc is getting crushed-59-33 vs georgia tech

i like to observe the numbers on the treadmill when i'm running too🙂 except i like to do the math to figure out exactly how many seconds it'll take to go 1/100th of a mile, 1/10th, etc, and figure out the exact time i'll be done with whatever distance i'm going...wow i'm a dork haha

Ok, you're officially my new favorite person. This statement sums up my runs in a nutshell. I'll calculate mile splits, 600 splits, 400 splits, 200 splits... it's freaky.

I think I'm going into a diabetic coma.

So much whipped cream...

Keep dreaming son.

Too much free food to starve in med school. I could live for the rest of the year on the pizza I've swiped from AMA meetings.

I'm joining AMA. This is exactly what I like to hear.

That's unfortunate, cuz I don't think LeBron is leaving the Cavs. As it stands, the Cavs are a top 3 team for the next 10 years with a core of Mo Williams, Varejao, Hickson, Delonte West and Boobie Gibson, plus whatever spare parts they throw on top of that. If they go get Amare, that's just sick. Why go to a rebuilding Knicks team that's at least a year or two away from contending? That's just throwing another potential two titles away, and the great ones are always measured in titles won, not money earned.

If Bosh then heads down to Miami with Wade... I guess the Knicks throw their money at Joe Johnson? Ouch.

i don't know, i'm hoping lebron cares about the right thing - money and improving the nba - over the cavs. i think he's the type of person that thinks he can win with anyone... so hopefully he's in ny

Nah, I don't think it's that he cares that much about the Cavs, as much as he cares about titles. They're in first place now, and they had the best record last year too before Orlando blindsided them... and since then they've swapped Ben Wallace for Shaq, and they're about to swap Hickson for Amare. If your goal is to win 10 titles or something ridiculous, how could you hope for a better situation than that?

well he also said he's bff with warren buffet and he wants to be a billionaire soon. cant do that **** in cleveland

How is this "the right thing"?

He cares about none of that (money, improving nba, cavs) as much as he does winning a championship. The team that gives him the best chance to do that is the Cavs (especially if Phx decides to pull the trigger with Amare).

Sure he can. After he's won 3 titles in a row, you don't think he could pull in $100 million+ a year in endorsements?

Like, if I'm the Knicks, I think you HAVE to do this deal... because any time you've got a chance to get in on the race for a guy like LeBron, even if it's only like a 20-30% chance, you have to go for it, because the upside is so huge. I'm just worried that it's more likely that it all ends in tears for NY.

The organization is in shambles. They don't have a solid vision except to dismantle for this offseason and see the fireworks display, and hope something falls into their laps. If it doesn't workout with Bron, they can always nab Dwayne and Bosh. The only player they even remotely care about is Gallinari. Alot could happen with the Knicks between now and next season.

Edit: My point is, this is not a promising situation for any free agent to sign onto. You saw this bs happen with Baron Davis and Elton Brand for the Clippers. You don't trust what other superstars are going to do.... to each his own. And Lebron's best shot at leaving a legacy, in my opinion, is in CLE!!!!

no way, you are doing wayyyyyyy more for the community by increasing your enterprise.

more money = more control over your life and what you want to do with it >>>>>>> nba titles. c'mon how much money has tim duncan made off his titles

nike has offered him 100 million dollars for moving to nyc or LA. any reasonable confident person would take up on this offer. if i were him, i would have the walk on water attitude and would believe that i could turn any franchise into a championship team. this ny team is better than the cleveland team that lebron got drafted into. not only that, a lot of people say it would be better if he goes somewhere else, but NY has the ability to now sign him and tell him to pick wade/bosh/johnson/amare and other players.

i'm definitely biased and i'm hoping he goes to ny.

cleveland is gonna have to win this year though

i wouldn't be happy with dwyane. he needs to go to philly. someone get rid of brand/dalember/iggy somehow

i'm kinda scared that bron might not come though, so i've been convincing myself that i like kobe more

Yeah we pretty much hate each other regarding this topic. PS - are you even a knicks fan? I thought you were a sixers fan!

But honestly, it's all about what Lebron cares about. He wears 23. All the kids wanna be like Mike. He wants to be the greatest of all time whether he acknowledges that or not. I think he cares more about his legacy than any endorsement at this point in time. With his success, the fame will grow... if it can... jesus, he's already one of the most recognizable athletes in the world.

i've also been finding faults in lebron's game and personality lately. i've become like a school girl with a crush 🙁

no i'm a hugeeeee knicks fan. larry johnson 4 pt play is the best moment of my life. i was a new yorker before i moved to philadelphia and i grew up on bball so yea the knicks are everything.

probably the biggest summer of my life, not because i'm going to med school either

im stuck with the sixers now.

i think NBA has become all about finances now. overpaying for people have been crippling franchises

haha, that play is sick.

What do you think of Simmons' Ewing Theory?

I shouldn't be getting into this conversation as I should have been in bed about 2 hours ago.

But, officially, I'd like to announce that we're bball enemies till like Sept. And I will forever hate you and anything associated with NY if Bron leaves.

i've become a fan of oklahoma city thunder recently. durant is just sick

Saaaaame. And he's just a kid. Literally.... plus Westbrook is one my fantasy team that I actually keep up with ($$ involved). 8 steals the other night. Good young team with positive core players. If they could get some talent to fill in around Durant, Westbrook, Green (and Harden)... watch out!!!

Meh. At a certain level of money, you pretty much have absolute control over your life anyways. I don't know that there's much, if any, difference in standard of living between making $100 million and $150 million. At that point, it's all about getting yourself into the history books and making sure that the people 50, 100, however many years from now are still talking about LeBron James.

Timmy might not be THE richest player in the NBA, but I promise he's more than happy. Probably one of the most content guys in the entire league. But also, Timmy never had the opportunity to become one of those truly transcendent players like Jordan or Magic. Timmy's ceiling was always top 10, maybe top 5 player of all time but no higher; LeBron should be aiming for number 1, and in order to get there he needs at least 7 titles. Why set himself back 2 years? No matter how much he believes in himself, he's not an idiot; he knows he's not winning anything year one or two with Bosh, Galinari, and 9 hobos.
i wouldn't be happy with dwyane. he needs to go to philly. someone get rid of brand/dalember/iggy somehow
Lol. Good luck with that 😛

The Knicks suck. The end.

I will stop respecting Lebron as a person if he signs with the Knicks, because then we know he's just about money.

I don't think he will, though. He knows he can't win there.
