Ow.
Ow.

Did a 10 minute warm up on the elliptical.

Then 4.2mph for a little bit - really just fast walking, not running. Then 5.1 for a little. then 4.8 until half a mile, then 4.2 again, then 4.5 until a mile.

I am out of shape.

To be fair, this is my first time running since my leg injury back in Dec 2007 (not that I really ran before then).

I know how pathetic it sounds, but ow.
oh no not ow! haha when i first started-i was so sore i could barely lie down straight lol
you are braver and more in shape than i was when i started judging by the fact that 5.1 didn't kill you. 😛

Proud of you!

my email box is getting flooded with SOOOO MANY EMAILS!

It's okay. I don't blame you.

I really really really hate running, so I could imagine myself doing worse. I don't even know hard what you did is anyway, so I'm not judging you. 👍

haha, thanks.

I also went like half an hour after eating. I'm pretty sure now that was one of the stupidest things ever. I feel sick.

I'm not a huge fan of it, though even in my 20 minute death run I felt it working pretty much everything. I need to start seeing results as I'm getting super unmotivated, so hopefully this will accomplish that

Hello all! How was everyone's weekend? There's no way I'm going to catch up on the past ten pages, so would anyone like to fill me in?

I just got done running 6 miles! That's the most I've run in a while. And I jogged 2 miles earlier today, so that makes 8 miles total! Woo! So who else is on this fitness kick? I know Sammich, jackson, and ksmi are...

haha ive done that before...had a cramp for 45 mins
ouweeeeeeeeee!

:hello:

Me. But I've sort of been on a fitness kick for the past 8 years of my life. Do I still count?

I think that counts! As long as you're doing the whole fitness thing at the present time, then I say yes!

Ugh, I hate running after eating, it's the worst.

If you eat too much, then it is a horrible feeling! Sometimes I like to have half a protein bar or something like that right before I go workout though.

yeah I started cramping like 0.2 seconds into running, but I stuck it out for a mile.

Because of my ankle, I won't get hardcore into running, but I figure I'll alternate the treadmill and elliptical now. I used to do elliptical exclusively.

woah that's awesome!!!! i can't lose 75 or i'd be emaciated, but 20-30 would be sweet. i've lost 6 so far, but i think i've gained some muscle too and can def see a change in my body shape.

Holy wow!!! I want to lose 20-25 pounds. I would feel SO much better about myself. I've seen pics of you - I can't imagine you needing to lose 75 pounds. Can you please be my personal motivator? lol. I eat my feelings too much.

tee hee
Catastrophe....Tatastrophy

 Maybe that's subliminally why I chose the word

Impressive!

One summer I lost 30 pounds in a little over 2 months. That was my record. I would like to reaccomplish that, but I was pretty hardcore.
Good for you! - How did you do it?

I lost almost 30 in 6 months at one point. I've gained about 10 of it back. That was pretty much exclusively dieting though and I'm having a hard time sticking to <1500 calories a day. I have a terrible habit of eating when I'm stressed/sad which I have been way too much lately

Running makes it all vanishhhhhh! Love it!

I woke up early before work and did 30 minutes of elliptical (pretty fast) about 4 days/week, and I did 100 pushups everyday combined with some free weight stuff. Nothing too complicated, no gym involved, no outside involved, no running involved.

I also mainly ate Domino's pizza.

Alrighty, I am tired, and I have to be up at 5! Good night everyone! 🙂

:hello: Hilariously, there was a fitness kick about this time last year in the 2013 thread as well. I suspect spring is in the air...

(I've restarted my 'perfect pushup' regimen, started using the wii fit regularly, and cure distraction with crunches. 😀)

Probably because everyone realizes at this point if they want to be in shape for med school, they need to start now.

I'm definitely more on the hardcore exercising than changing my diet. I have a very hard time changing what I eat, so I figure I might as well just exercise more to offset it.

But when you don't change your diet and don't exercise for 2 years, things start catching up with you...

I wish I didn't have to go to the gym to use the elliptical. When I had my successful 30 pound loss, it's when I lived an hour from school and we had a gazelle that I'd hop on when I watched tv.

This. I need to be cute to get a decent boy in med school. :d Especially with all the girl discussions that have happened here in the past, I feel like I need to be super good looking to ever get a guy in med school. (especially that stupid 'everyone in med school is fit' thread)

yea seriously.

haha although since i run every day...i can have stashes of chocolate all over my room and not get HUGE. LOVE IT!

Night stone

My parents have one at the house, and now it has a TV in front of it. 👍

I don't mind going to the gym for weights (actually I do - I don't like waiting for machines), but cardio sucks and I would prefer not to leave my house for it.

I never understood that mentality... how do you know if you want to live with someone for the rest of your life if you have never lived with them? Seems like a pretty big leap of faith.

People have done it for centuries. I think I'll know when it's right.

About to work out. Have had the longest day ever. 🙁

Haha, I have a Gazelle, but it's currently under my brother's bed. No hope of getting to it anytime soon. His room has because the new storage room.

I was so confused for so long

Hello there. I don't think we've been aquainted yet. I'm Float. I'm a girl. That's about as much as I reveal here, besides what I am eating at the moment and how I need to go to bed earlier.

🙁. I'm sure your charming personality will make them swoon! (no sarcasm there)

haha, that does about sum you up nicely :d And I need to start getting to bed earlier too. I'm in a terrible cycle right now.

And thanks 🙂 (unless your no sarcasm parentheses were extra sarcastic 🙂)

, no. You seem like a very easy-going and likeable person here. In real life, however...jk!

What do you guys want to race to? How much do people want to lose?

I really want to stick with this running thing. I NEED to lose some. I'll feel so much better after 10 and that should, theoretically, not take too long.

I like your new avatar, Sam. Very nice.
Thanks, Blue 🙂

This should be yours:

I personally don't think there should be a race, especially when it comes to poundage. People lose weight differently and stuff. It should be about motivation and some healthy competition for us Type As.

Plus, it's not about the numbers, it's about how you look and feel.

haha, that's a good plan. And true. I know it's not about the numbers, but seeing the numbers change is a nice motivator.
