Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hello RD. I'm WG, from Miami (similar climate to South Cali I hear, except on the opposite side of the country), so far it looks like I'm going to University of Miami for med school.

hey! i know a resident who went to U of M and loved it. he is actually trying to get a job there after residency.

miami seems like a cool city. sun, beach, clubs. so-cal is known for its weather. its unlike the northern end where it does actually rain and get pretty cold.

p.s. i feel ya w/ the silly pitt email business. enough is enough w/ the teasers.

i still think UNC will be better (than Duke) next year. I look forward to seeing seth curry's mom though

you can't be serious. they're adding freshmen to a mediocre team. no matter how good a freshmen class is coming in, they are still freshmen. if they can get steady pg play they'll be respectable.

+1 for curry's mom

manu signed a $40 mil extension? overpaid

👍

Congrats violincuty!!! 🙂

blobby bob, I feel like your cross-eyeing 2000 doubled as a test for me...and I passed BOOYAH.

Aaaaaand I'm going to go study now. Be back around midnight.

zoubek is a senior. i think he'll get some nba looks, maybe not drafted, but he'll be on a roster next year.

i'm kinda worried that singler and smith will flirt with the league, but if everyone comes back duke will be ridiculous. add seth curry and kyrie irving, its a wrap.

osu will be better... just watch

over under kevin durant averaging 35 pts a game this week

Tuesday @ Jazz - scored 45
Today - Denver - 14 pts with 5 min to go in 2nd quarter
Friday - PHX
Sunday - Golden state

idk, ed davis is decent and they are gonna be pretty big next year

 yes these players are talented but $40 million, really? really?

why so much? where do these numbers come from? how do you put a price on talent? entertainment? its just crazy to think about how they make playing a sport really well.

yea, i guess

but sports have been around so long, athletes have started to recognize that its a possible way of making a living. these players really prep for them the way we prep for school. they put in their 8-12 hours a day on staying fit/improving their skill/keeping a diet

i know someone in the NBA and he had to work his ass off to get there to be paid $2 mill a year. if he's not playing basketball in front of a group, he's @ practice 4 hours a day, conditioning for 2-3, maintining his diet the rest and then watching film/doing interviews.

he has to be at 2-3 charity or team events a week. i would think it is a really stressful 100-120 hour a week job that requires really tough skin because everyone and their grandmother will talk **** about you if you aren't up to expectations.

i think its hard to determine who should make what kind of money, usually the market + consumers do an EXTREMELY good job of self regulating itself. I do think ticket prices for games are costly sometimes, but people still go so if they can afford it, then i gotta step my game up.

again, yea idk what determines how much one should earn. i tend to say everything is okay because i would like to avoid hearing that I get overpaid for what I do (and i'm sure some people would think that way) because I like to think that I put in a lot of time.

not to mention how few people there are that can perform at such a high level. it is entertaining and the general public pays to see that.

I think I'm also going to the U. There could be up to 4 people from this thread going there next year, should be sick.

i think the southern cali climate is > than the miami weather though. although I hear Miami beaches are warm watered compared to cold watered cali beaches

Yeah I can't wait for August to start med school! I graduated in December so I'm just basically taking it easy until school starts again. Hopefully we'll meet at the U.

skip ahead to like 1:10. 😱

chinese kid >>>>> aladdin guy

edit: whoa didn't get to the jasmine part before i posted that

dammit, there goes that no hitter

Lol, saw that.

my favorite teams to watch this year

1. phils
2. braves
3. st louis
4. dodgers (sucks)
5. san fran (dont think they will do much)
6-7 rockies/twins

That's a good list. Mine is most of the NL west + Angels.

I wouldn't mind catching a few braves, twins, or cardinals games either.

Maybe over because of the suns and the d-league all-stars.

Guess I'm gonna have to start supporting the Cardinals from now on, now that I'll be at STL. Still, I love my Giants.

Hey Brooklyn Blunder If you're moving to Miami, are you going to consider becoming a Marlins fan?

one of my boys plays for the marlins! go fish! (except against the mets)

I never realized how much the rest of the nation loves baseball until this thread

None of my friends or family..or many people in my area seem to care about it. We are more about Football/Hockey/Basketball/Soccer.

Oh and apparently the thing I was supposed to get an answer on last week might actually get an answer tonight...

Though at this point I've pretty much given up.

I know! We don't have a pro baseball team in NOLA. Closest teams in all directions are Astros, Cardinals, and Braves.

Cool. He has a weird picking/strumming style. Did he have a huge afro as usual?

Anyone know anything about midi controller keyboards? I'm trying to set up one that I'm borrowing but I can't get this software to work.
