Not in college 😉 But I only have to come into work for 10hrs/wk. and work from home the rest of the time. If you have patience, test prep is the way to go. 😎ahh to be young and in college and able to go for a run at 12:15 on a weekday...:wistful:
Well OUR PEOPLE don't like to be stereotyped.I just assumed that's what you people do. 🙂

super excited about baseball season. my team 3-0, my hated team 0-2. its super early, but hey, a good season start is always nice.
now that all decisions from my schools are done, i'm even more anxious about the stupid financial aid. i mean, i'm not knocking any doors down for merit aid but a little need-based help would be nice...
and i just got a super creative idea for a fun art project. must...go...to...aaron brothers.
Super gains! Sometimes you don't even need a gym membership, if, hypothetically, you know of an apartment complex that has a nice gym nearby that doesn't have a key or check ID... hypothetically.hello everyone! I was reading all the workout posts above and I just couldn't resist putting up mine as well:
I lift weights 3-4x a week and do cardio/abs on the in-between days. For those of you who have iPhones I strongly recommend getting the iFitness app. That's what I use. I do the 30 min chest workout, followed by the ultimate arm workout. The only thing is that you definitely need a gym membership to do these routines. The app just guides you through the appropriate exercises and allows you to track your progress. I'm thrilled to say that over the course of 1 year and a half, I've been able to bulk up from a scronny 130lbs to 150lbs (I'm 5'6"). I've gained 20 lbs of muscle. I also take protein shakes religiously.
Unfortunately, I am still suffering from a torn medial meniscus that I got in a skiing accident about 2 years ago! It really sucks because every time I do anything involving knees (especially squats), it gets messed up all over again. My doctor says that I'm probably going to have to deal with it for the rest of my life but this is pretty bad. I do workout with an ACE brace and put ice after I workout to prevent injury, but sometimes that's not enough. I'm gonna see if the doctor can recommend something further.
Not much. Contemplating fantasy moves.

I've got the iFitness app and love the way I can program my own exercises into it and mark how many sets at what weights and track my progress.
If you're cutting or eventually shift your goals to retaining muscle and cutting weight, download Lose It!. It's an awesome app that tracks calories and other nutrients (like protein, if you want). It has all the regular foods and also a bunch of restaurant foods, if you happen to cave, lol. It tracks caloric intake and also allows for input of exercise and converts the duration and intensity into calories burned based on gender, weight, and age. Let's you trend over time and track your weightloss and net calories. Best of all, it's FREE.
Fantasy team is sucking it up today. G. Jones has gotten 2Es already today and single-handedly cost my team a point. Pujols and Ryan (guy hitting in front of Pujols) are 0-for against freakin' Bronson Arroyo. Batters are 1/12 today with 3 Ks, lolNot much. Contemplating fantasy moves.

Especially when trying to get a gram of protein per lb. of bodyweight. Thanks for the tip, I'm downloading it right now. It's nice to have something that manages your nutrient intake for you.
Looks awesome. Better be free and work with my 3GS!anybody reading up on iphone os 4?

This Is Progress? GM Loses $4.3B, Needs $12.3B to Fund Its Pension

General Motors is out of bankruptcy but the troubled car giant still can't turn a profit. The company lost $4.3 billion in its first six months since emerging from bankruptcy. GM Chief Financial Officer Christopher P. Liddell is confident the road ahead will be smoother, saying "there's a chance of achieving profitability in 2010."
Let's hope so. The U.S. government owns 61% of the company.
GM is also struggling with its pension obligations; a large portion of GM's loss was due to a settlement with the United Workers Automobile Workers union over retiree health care liabilities.
According to a report by the Government Accountability Office, GM will need to add $12.3 billion into its pension fund by 2014. If GM and Chrysler (which is in the hole $2.6 billion) terminate their pensions, the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation funded by, you know who - would then become responsible for as much as $14.5 billion in unfunded liabilities. However, if GM starts making money the company will be able to pay into the pension, the GAO reports.
Underfunded pensions are a widespread problem, not just for the private sector, as Henry and Aaron discuss in the accompanying clip.
The New York Times reports, an independent report of California's three big pension funds found a shortfall of more than half a trillion dollars. This could lead to a major political problems, especially when and if states raise taxes to bridge the gap. As Aaron points out, this could enrage taxpayers fed up with paying for government worker benefits at a time when the average government employee is making more than private sector workers and receives better benefits.
There's a box of cookies at work, and someone just reached in and took off only part of a cookie to eat. Maybe it's just me, but do you think it's strange when people grab only part of food like that? I mean, I think that the action of feeling over the cookie to get only part of it to eat kinda taints the rest of the cookie for anybody else that might have wanted to have a cookie.
Yeah, that's something I would only do with my personal food. A no-no for community food IMO.
Only ok between immediate family. Co-workers... not-so-much.There's a box of cookies at work, and someone just reached in and took off only part of a cookie to eat. Wait. Now you're talking about women or before? 😕 Were the rest over?
Darn, and the U.S. government was working so hard to stick it to Toyota and now Honda. GM couldn't turn a profit if we GAVE them millions of dollars. Oh wait, that happened.
Hole in one!
since this masters in on IMAX 3D (or 3D in general), do you think Tiger pops out of the screen to mack on the white women?

I like doing insidious things in response. Put a sticky note on the cookie that say. "Take the rest, you ruined it."Exactly how I feel. I just think it's so odd. And no one else has touched that one partial cookie since.

Did you guys hear about the diplomat from Qatar who lit a cigarette on a plane from Washington DC to Denver and was arrested? He smoked in the first-class cabin bathroom and an attendant saw smoke as he left the bathroom so she asked him if he had been smoking. I guess his English isn't very good because he replied with a maneuver that looked like he was striking a match on his shoe (not very good body language to use on a plane). That's when the air marshals took him into custody. Everyone thought he was lighting a bomb on the plane. He's still in police custody. It happened late last night.
