Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Man this week has been a blur! First week of class has been nutso. The nice thing is that it took me 4 days to finally come across a med student trying to show the size of his med-peen. If it took me that long, it has to be a good class right? lol

It's a shame lolbunnies never got as big as lolcats. Pancake bunny is a timeless classic

Interesting. I never knew there was a lolbunnies.

Got my med school ID today. My school is a clusterfrick because FEMA is doing a mitigation and you basically can't enter any of the buildings where they actually have entrances. 😡

I've been having a lot of fun recently on 1v1 and 2v2 league play... just got bumped from silver to gold, so I'm getting better! 😀
I just finished the campaign mode of SC2 on brutal this past Wednesday. I found the ending pretty enjoyable, I can't wait for the next installment if/when it comes out. Hopefully they won't take more than a year but knowing Blizzard it'll probably take 3 more for Hearts of the Swarm. The only thing I'm disappointed about is that there is only a single campaign and it's sort of short for a RTS but I already knew those two things going in and still enjoyed the game.

I was going to this awesome festival with 2 of my favorite bands but then decided not to because of money and time issues later on.

I'm starting to rethink this now (of course, once my loan check comes in) after listening to a new CD. I could either go to Atlanta (~7 hours) for Saturday during Labor Day weekend or Houston (5-6 hours) on Sunday Sep 12th.

Any thoughts? Should I go or not?

I would plan around your exam schedule. The 1-2 hr drive difference seems insignificant if it's going to have 2 bands that you love.

Got mine today too after a heinous uphill walk in 95 degree weather. This is the same path I have to take each day to classes. :lame:

The thingy that controls my AC overheated AGAIN today. I walked into an 87 degree apt. :annoyed: It's fixed...for now.

So I have a question: to your knowledge, is there much of a difference between editions for Netter's Atlas of Human Anatomy?

i would just get the 5th ed, cant be that much different but it just came out

btw, med school is a ****load of scheduled courses. our school is mostly non-lectures. but we have to watch lectures at home by ourselves and rest of them are required courses. and then we have patients in class so even though we are an informal school, we still have to dress up frequently

Am I seriously the first person to post today? I guess everyone else is doing something meaningful.

I'm just lazying around. I want to unpack everything before starting on Monday. I also want/need to go grocery shopping but I don't want to lose my street parking space. Take a chance or go on a diet?

I bet the other two are probably very close to being done. They're just holding out for the money.

+1. Most of the work is done anyways since it'll use the same engine and models as the current game. They just need to make new levels and some small tweaks/additions.

Well from what I've heard, if they hadn't split up the games into 3 pieces then it wouldn't have been released for AT LEAST another 3 years which means they would have been working on the game for over 14 years. I wonder how they're gonna do the pricing, like if you already own wings of liberty then you get a major discount or something. $60 for each piece is sort of a lot.

if you arent in school yet, your best bet is to wait til classes start til getting a laptop. i hate to admit it but i would stay away from netbooks (which i have) and get a 15'' macbook or a macbook pro

Pretty sure they'll just be expansions with the standard $30 price tag. I wouldn't be surprised to see that bumped to $40 though.

Yea, expansions would make sense. I'm just confused because they've been saying "games" since they announced the splitting of it. If the expansions are as good as I think they will be then I think $120 is a fair price for the whole set but $140 is really pushing the envelope.

Do you mean the difference between 4th and 5th editions, or the difference between the two editions on Amazon(i.e. the Student vs. Professional)? Either way, I don't think there's much difference. 4th and 5th are pretty similar, and the professional edition is identical(just hardcover), as it has the same exact number of pages as the student edition.

I like sony too.

Really, but aren't all 3 races already available for play? It really shouldn't take 3 years to make some single player campaigns.

Well you know blizzard and their attention to detail. I think for the expansions they're going to add units and other tidbits along with the campaign. They've been pretty tight lipped about everything. I mean diablo 3 is in the same situation and it isn't getting broken up and still going to take who knows how long.

Also, I didn't mean 3 years for the expansion but rather 3 years if they hadn't split the game into 3 pieces. So the overall product would have taken 3 more years, but since they're doing it in pieces I'm guessing it'll take them 3 years to release the last expansion.

Blizzard's in good business though, the game brought in at least $90 million on just the first two days, who knows how much more since after that.

SC2 became the best-selling game of the year one day after its release. Blizzard is doing good business. 👍
