I work in a clinical research lab at my local SOM. I love working with the patients, but I hate the monotony of the data processing, statistical analysis, normalizing, etc. etc... It was cool for the first year or two, but I'm over it.

I want to go work somewhere fun or where I can interact with people. I've come to the conclusion that most laboratory scientists are introverts and/or hermits... I need social interaction regularly or I start to get bummed out/depressed. Hence my job is very very depressing...

Never saw the movie. And that picture... wrong in many ways (especially because they are just wrong about the numbers).

There's no way to get into any med school you want. Everyone's bound to be rejected from somewhere. But add leadership to that list. By far the most fun thing I ever did in college was getting involved in student leadership. And yeah, what everyone else said about the grades, school, and such. Do what makes you happy. 🙂 Don't waste away college being a crazy pre-med.

Also, just got back from the doctor again. They think I have mono. Bleh. Running lots of other tests on my blood too. I hate being sick.

They must be undergrads. Those guys infest my lab during the summers. Jk, it's cool to hang out with new faces in the lab during the summers. Including ugrads, our lab is 10 ppl strong this summer! Feels like a big name research lab!

I wish man, it was a PhD and a lady with her MS in clinical psych... I was just sitting there thinking, you've got to be kidding me...

Ha ha. It's nice when your lab fills up, especially when you get more social people in the lab. People in my lab would rather curl up and die than endure a conversation... So every time I start talking all the docs close their doors. ha ha. It's priceless.
