dude. just drop it. if shes offended, shes offended, regardless of whether you meant it or not. make a heartfelt apology, dont include any quoted words, and just leave it at that. bringing it up repeatedly is only going to exacerbate the situation...

It's kind of long, according to the 2ndary thread. And it's the fact that they accept half their class through their BS/MD program, so don't know if it's worth it.:shrug:

i just went through the thread that lists schools without secondaries and added a couple of them last night =D

Well first question is very open ended like PS (basically how you would fit in at Uchicago) and has limit of 3500 characters. Second is a diversity essay with limit of 2500 characters.
 
This is how I know I've spent too much time on SDN...I feel that I just don't have a chance anywhere haha. Safety schools have become maybes, maybes have become reaches, reaches have become impossible...

i just ran into a dude that works in the same research hospital as me whos applying this cycle. i mentioned i got my first rejection from UWash and he asked if i posted on SDN. it was quite comical; i guess im the only one getting rejection letters this early in the game?!?! MLIA

what kind of SDN post count/MCAT score do you need for the 2014 fb group


and i also feel like im never going to get into medical school. it has to be a SDN thing
 
So one of my professors was suppose to have his LOR in by June 1st..yes JUNE 1st. I emailed him around the middle of June and he said he was going on a family vacation but would write it when he got back on the 25th. Well he still hasn't. I emailed him again a week ago and still no response. I tried calling his office but no one picked up. I was going to use this letter as my non-science. My only other non-science is a statistic professor and I'm not even sure if schools consider math a science or not. I'm confident this professor will write a really strong letter but I don't know how much longer I should wait for him. My school's letter service won't send out letters until they have received all letters I have listed. So my question is: how much longer should I wait? I've already sent out 12 of my secondaries but of course I won't be complete until my letters are in. I could remove him from my list and have my school just send the other 4 [two physics, 1 statistics, my research PI] but I would really like this one included.

Haha yes got that email too...but you have to think, they have more control on the timeframe than us...
 
Do you guys ever start to write a secondary essay, and then feel like you've written it before so you spend a half hour looking through your old essays trying to find it? And then you realize it was just some ****ty draft you wrote that you deleted?



Because I have. More than once.

I don't want to but I have to. I am sitting on 4 seconds, including my alma mater, which im doing now. My goal is to finish two today and take it from there.

Do you have other ppl read them? I feel like the ones I submitted are definitely subpar compared to my PS in terms of creativity and writing style

Nah, I'm a pretty good writer, and when other people read them I feel like they don't understand the process so they critique things and it doesn't make sense. I think the only problem with the PS being more literately efficient is if you're secondary essays absolutely suck, they'll think you got someone to write your PS. I don't I'll have that problem, especially since I got an 'S' in writing for what that's worth, and my secondary essays are pretty good, but I could see some people running into that problem.

I wouldn't look too much into the secondary essays though, they're looking more for you being knowledgeable about the school, and portraying how you would fit into the school.

See that is the problem I am thinking, but o wells I have distinct writing styles that resonant in both even if my secondaries are subpar.
 
I think i'm got the worse out of everyone here so far.
