But I like Continental because I get cheeseburgers and carrots.

You eat airline cheeseburgers... Now that's disgusting...

Holy crap!

Yeah, there is nothing like looking at the mounted GPS unit showing your planes progress when it starts to turn around and head back to NY... Then the pilot gets on the intercom and tells us, "Umm... We seem to have lost an engine, so don't mind us while we release fuel from the fuselage. We are hoping to land in NY in about an hour..." Yeah, we could have all done without the word "Hoping." ha ha.

Nice! I'm on some research being presented there this year as well. I'm not sure if I'm going to go for it though, since I'm not actually the one who is going to be presenting it. If I go, I might see you there!

you should go. it's awesome.

Oh damn. That sounds bad. Did he lose both legs? I will never understand how people can put those visits off for so long.

I will put pain, illness, etc. off for a while, but as soon as I realize that my body isn't fighting it on it's own, I'm at the doctors office.

Unclear what's going to happen. Theyre trying to drain his legs at the moment. I feel really bad for him but worse for the patients in the adjoining areas--when they started treating him the smell became unbearable for most and they had to hand out masks.

Honesty I've seen more cases in the ED thy should have been treated by primary care docs ages ago than i'd care to mention. Maybe that's why my time in the ED has pushed me towards primary care...

Breaks over. Back to the ED 😀

I might. We'll see if I have any money left after interviews. I bet it's a great time though.

That is pretty nasty. Poor guy.

Interesting progression to primary care. Lord knows we need more PCP's.

So tired. I spend all day moving stuff into my apt. on the third floor. Too many boxes. 🙁 Get to do it again tomorrow night.

I swore after I moved into my current place that I will NEVER move into a place above the second floor again, unless they have an elevator...

Okay, so totally off subject of what everyone has been talking about, but is there anyone on here who had letters sent to AMCAS by mail? Yes, I know it's archaic, but none of the teachers I asked for letters had access to digital letterhead (and apparently don't know how or feel comfortable with scanning and PDFing a document), and my school doesn't do a committee letter. My point is how @#$%*# long does it take for them to be "received" according to AMCAS???? By my count they were sent 3 weeks ago (I am going to double check with teachers tomorrow), and they still aren't listed as received...

Took about a week for me. This was back in late June/ early July.

3 weeks is a long time. Although, this is a really busy time for AMCAS, so I'm not sure. I think you're right in checking to make sure everything has been sent off, etc.

I submitted mine electronically from Interfolio Friday and they haven't been received yet. I figure it might take 4-5 days to process electronically. That could translate into a ~3 week snail mail wait, but it's better safe than sorry.

bye bye case 🙁
they couldnt even wait for my new mcat score.
i loved them.

i think they can wait until they get your new mcat. you paid a fee after all. maybe ask for a kind petition?

yeah i think im gonna write them an email asking why they didnt wait for my new score. my application stats are nothing to write home about, but damn they really must have not liked what they saw.

haha, i would love to tell them that. im pretty sure i did well on the last mcat i took so this one hurts extra bad.

How are they allowed to reject you without the new score? Are you sure they were aware that you were getting new scores?

i noted on amcas that i was taking the 7/17 mcat, and i havent been rejected anywhere else yet. why they did that? who knows.

i guess it wont hurt to try, but it seems futile at this point. as a side note, it's amazing how much better no news is than bad news!

Some people have said that schools have reconsidered their applications once they had a large increase in their MCAT score after a rejection, but they had to notify the school.

You know, if this thing with Shaq doesn't work out, he just might.

espn confirmed that Nike has given him a 100 million dollar incentive to sign in NY or LA. Obviously him and Kobe will not play together. Its only right for him take that much money. If he thinks he's the chosen one he better act like it and pay his taxes.

The brooklyn thing won't work out. the boro just cleared construction and they won't make it in time. plus with the economy and the location of the stadium i dont know how that will be.

I would wait until you get your new score. Don't do it yet.

unless they really didnt like what he had to offer. in which case apparently even a 40 wouldnt have helped him out

Ahhh! Fellow 07/17'er!!! We get our scores back next Tuesday!!! Wooohooo! I can't wait. I've essentially put my life on hold waiting for this bad boy.

i'm not gonna lie i had dreams about getting my mcat score back in the day. i would wake up at night to confirm if i had actually gotten a 23

haha good luck! i know what you mean, this is really make or break for my application...i NEED 32+, and probably actually 34+. hopefully we start hearing back from more schools after next tuesday (but not rejections!).

If I had a penny for every MCAT nightmare I've had thus far... I feel like I'm stuck in this weird purgatory where I have a very real possibility of ending up in hell...

Good luck to you as well!! I have only added my state school at this point, but will add others according to how my score pans out come Tuesday.

I had the weirdest dreams about the MCAT. So weird how nothing makes sense. Like one time I knew my composite score and two of the sections. I woke up, and realized that I'd have to get a -15 on that last section for the math to work out.

Had to share this quote: "Yes, the Trojans lose quarterback Mark Sanchez, not to mention most of their front seven on defense. Guys like Clay Matthews, Rey Maualuga and Brian Cushing will not be easy to replace, and the Trojans probably lost more key players than any other team in the top 5. So why are they here? Simple. They’re USC."
