man, all this scheduling is killing my fall. so far, i will be home for 12 days in the month of september. main thing is a 10-day trip to a neurotrauma conference in santa barbara. woohooooo. vacations!

Oh I HATE that. It happened to me my entire sophomore year. After talking about it and even putting signs up on both doors so that neither of us would forger, I just started leaving the other side locked whenever I found my side locked. :laugh:
 
What's with writing Favre's name with green and yellow? Green Bay people apparently see red anytime they hear about Favre.

don't get that feeling just yet. Some people go through the cycle with NO interviews.
 
anyone know if Vick will be in the Eagles next preseason game?

if it makes you feel better i have more rejections and only one interview lol...im starting to think my application is just trash compared to everyone else. Maybe my PS sucks a lot, maybe idk i just keep thinking all these what ifs lol. Every school on my list has basically started handing out interviews and im skipped over🙁

I think that's the SDN talking, but I feel the same way. In high school, I applied to 3 schools and got into all 3 -- rejection really stings...

And I KNOW your app isn't trash -- there's a lot of folks I know applying this cycle with mid 20s and haven't even begun their primaries yet. You're gonna be fine 🙂

so, i hate to be 'that guy', but when is it time to start worrying about having no interviews? i wish there were some non-phenomenal veteran applicants here i could ask about when/if they started to recieve interviews. im guessing maybe a month from now would be time to panic? sigh...
 
This process is so frustrating. After asking one of my PI's to write a letter for me, and we had a clear agreement on this, apparently he didn't write it because he was the author of the premed committee letter. Now what? Do I ask him to write another one? But isn't it weird that I would have two letters from him? Then again, would the committee letter with his thoughts clearly included be sufficient? BLAH!
HELP!

i think since you are applying mstp it's important to have a separate letter from the PI. i think he/she would be able to elaborate on your aptitude as a researcher, etc, etc (at least thats what my PI said he did for me)
 
Hey guys! So I've been MIA for a while cuz I've been moving into the new apartment and we didn't get internet hooked up for 6 days but I'm back and with good news! Tulane Invite for 9/18! Super excited!! 😀
 
congrats, i still have to move in, i've had my lease almost for a month now (i'll probly move in after vandy interview)

I know, I know. I just emailed him and he said that he thought it would cover it, since the other people who did mstp in the past had the same situation. besides, he was my most minor PI (just a semester). He just said he would write a separate letter, but i'm just annoyed that he didn't do it in the first place.

Really, I hope it doesn't screw me over for Iowa, because they say they don't take any additional letters after a committee letter. UGH!
 
stupid question of the day: how does MSTP differ from a MD/PhD?

i had my main PI write one for me for md admission on the packet and he also wrote one separate letter on AMCAS for mstp. Iowa accepted both letters. no worries

As for #2, well I'm married. My wife is a hot co-worker for others. 🙁

Alrighty, been productive so far today, figured I'd balance that out with some SDN.
I can't believe notarizing something can cost $20 - They get paid that much to sign something! That's like $600/hr! Sign me up. :laugh:

Definitely not!! You JUST got your mcat score back so I'm sure schools are just starting to look at your app, don't worry yet🙂 I'd say even 1 month from now is too soon to panic, wait til dec/jan then you can start to get scared.

this is so uncool. I was thinking it was all going to be fine, then I realized that once you submit AMCAS for a school, you can't change which letters they can see. 👎

OH, JK!!!
I was freaking out, but apparently if you add an LOR but go off to plate some cells, amcas logs you out, and you try to add the letter to schools, you can't. BUT if you do it all in one session, the LOR appears and you CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!👍

Nice. That works. I think I'll buy my next one from Best Buy. Screw Target. They lied to me about their warranty, no lemon policy, AND microsoft warranty after they have warrantied it. Can you tell I'm bitter...? ha ha

I had that problem too. I was doing work stuff, came back and was like WTF? ha ha. Glad you figured it out though. 😉
