and...just think...this time next year you will be in the throws of first year...or about to start (like me)
 
how is it teaching high school kids? I was asked to teach SAT for this program at my undergrad.
 
So I just aimlessly walked around UVA this afternoon for about 2 hrs while waiting for SNMA to take me to dinner this evening, and it is a beautiful campus. Didn't go in the med school, though, I figure I'll do enough of that tomorrow. :laugh:

Oh, and I haven't eaten for about 12 hours... hungry...

I just got my first rejection! I'm kinda excited about it. I'm so weird...
 
umm congrats luun?😛 which school? I actually thought i'd be more upset about getting rejected than i was...it definitely helps to think about all the reasons why you wouldn't want to go to that particular school haha
 
There were a whole bunch of people from the first Vandy interview at the 8/28 Michigan interview... I only know this because they were the only people answering "No" to the commonly asked question "Is this your first interview?" 😛

The overwhelming conclusion was... Vandy and Michigan are awesome and we can only hope the rest of the interviews will be this chill. :xf::xf:

I have a feeling that there will be a lot of interview activity this week - it's the first week of September, so a lot of silent schools should start talking. At least, according to last year's dates.
 
i'm taking a vacation/work trip to santa barbara from the 4th-14th. i wonder if i can refrain from constantly checking e-mail/SDN...

I have a feeling that post-interview rejections are going to hurt a lot more than post-secondary ones... I didn't really feel bad at all when I got my first rejection, but if/when I start getting rejections from schools I visited and liked, that's going to sting. 😳

I will be more pissed than anything because I would have spent hundreds of dollars into airfare and lodging, not to mention the time, to fly out there, and it was all for naught.

Yeah, it's already frustrating and I haven't even been rejected post-interview yet. :laugh:

The students that took me out to dinner were awesome and really friendly and helpful. It can only get better, I would think.

More often than not you'll be waitlisted instead of rejected outright; hopefully if you're rejected from the WL you'll already be in somewhere else and won't care.

i actually never thought of that, but you may be right. i guess if some school accept 40% of their interviewees, the other 60% have a good chance to make the waitlist. interesting..

Are you thinking that the more rejections you predict, the more invites you'll get?

i'll get 15...the rest of my schools.

oh yea. now i should get invites from schools i didn't even apply too. 👍:meanie:

urgh. my cclcm and case interviews are on monday and tuesday week of nov 9. my osu int is on nov 2... but cant reschedule...
 
november interviews already. wow, these schools are really planning ahead.

MDapps is getting better by the day.
 
i just hope for ANY good news this week . . . even a small pool or something.

now that i've had two rejections and no invites i am spiraling into a neurotic state . . . convinced that my app is not good enough for anywhere. realistically i know i am overreacting but i can't help it with all of you doing so well.

i also wish i had the $ to submit the last few secondaries i'm currently sitting on. especially rush . . . sometimes i think the universe is attempting to communicate with me through my satellite radio. the other day i was driving, and thinking about how I needed to send a check to Rush. (well, i was about to drive past it, so that could have been why I was thinking about it.) But right then the song "Rush" by big audio dynamite came on the radio as I was driving past Rush . . . freaky huh? :scared:

okay maybe not. but still. ive heard various theories that people get into Loyola or Rush but not both. and since loyola apparently hates me, i better focus on Rush!

at least the med programs do interviews that often. some mstp programs only have three interview weekends all year. one per month. eep!
