i actually already completed the secondary itself. but for some reason you cant pay it online, which i was going to do with my credit card. you have to mail a check, along with a photo and a copy of your passport, which makes it more difficult. i don't have the cash to pay for it at the moment. unless i choose to pay my bills late instead. i'm considering it actually.
 
embarrassing = when your boss walks past you standing at the copier and sees you pressing a few sheets of paper to your cheek and you say "i couldn't tell which ones were the copies and which were the originals so i'm seeing which ones are warm."

I feel you with the rejections -- 4 rejections, 1 invite (auto-invite b/c I'm in-state w/ UNC). I just remind myself over and over that a half dozen friends from my school were sitting on multiple acceptances last march after applying in OCTOBER. We're too early in this game.

as for those theories, that makes me want to fill out Loyola and Rush now -- they're my last two (well, plus Emory, but that's taking a back burner until the Chicago ones are done).

Ohio State seems pretty awesome. The Dean will probably call you to congratulate you on your interview, and when I rescheduled it the office was really nice. It's a good one, congrats.

I have gtown on wednesday. Bamtuba is there now, Metallica is at uva now.
I have interviews every week from now until the first week in oct.

flight costs

~ $300 to louisville (they gave me a week notice) +hotel/host? = $400
~ $50 gas Pittsburgh
~ $20-30 gas + toll to downstate
~ $130 flight to raleigh + $30 - $60 shuttle to duke + hotel/host = $200+
~ $200 flight to charleston (free hotel!)
~ $130 flight to columbus +whatever fees to ohio state + host/hotel = 200+
~ $130 flight to cleveland + whatever fees to cclcm + host/hotel = 200-300

= 1400 + 400ish for nashville 1800 so farz

I'm trying to think of a way to combat the stress associated with this process...and I read Julie and Julia this weekend while at the beach...so now I'm thinking of working my way through a bunch of recipes in my spare time.

Not French cooking, but rather 100 ways to use a strip of bacon.

my pants are suggesting I work my way through the south beach cookbook instead :laugh:

any suggestions for ways to while away the time between neurotic email checks?

So, note to self: Next time, don't schedule flight after interview so late. Checkout was quite a while ago, but at least I can chill in the hotel restaurant/bar thingy until I have to go to the airport.

Only e-mail today was an invite from SLU, which made me pretty happy.

Quick question for those with like 7 or 8+ interviews... are you going to all of them? I straight up cannot afford that many interviews! I'm considering not flying to Rochester for the interview to save the money... it's making me sad. 🙁

Especially, when the dean actually calls you.👍
The dean at every school should give a congratulatory call like Ohio State does. It makes you feel so damn special.😀
