my PI submitted a paper at 5 AM (emailed me), so who wants to wish on the class of 2014 thread that he doesn't show up today at all

man, ive become so lazy. but im mostly done with my experiment, most of my drafts are written up, so im limited by the cell culture (thats still weeks away to have enough to repeat experiments) and our collaborators and whatnot
 
For about the 4th time posting this in this thread, Im so glad i never did/had to do bench research.
 
So I just had a dream that my Vandy interview was at my old school and I was playing football before it. I then missed the intro by an hour, couldn't even find the place, and brought the wrong tie.

Freaky - haven't had one of those sabotage-an-important-moment dreams in a while.

i met isiah thomas at the airport and we had the same flight to raleigh, he sat 5 rows before me

Whoa, I thought he would have his own private jet or something. Wouldnt he at least ride first class?
 
he did ride first class. but it was the smallest US air plane. so... well yea

no body guards or anything, he had another FIU coach with him. probably was illegally recruiting someone in Philly

First class seating is pretty much going the way of he dodo in the US today, except for coast to coast flights...

no way, i cant afford first class. but for domestic 1 hour flights, its only an extra $20. the plane was really really small it had 10 rows max. he was on the first row with like an extra half a foot of seating and i was on the 6th.

i do change my seating around to free rows or aisle up front though if its free

If I had to bet, I would say Chicago.

But their competition is Rio - there is a lot of sentiment for the Olympics to be held again in the southern hemisphere - IIRC, it hasn't been held south of the equator often, and I can only think of Sydney - anywhere else?

the closest south it came was Mexico City

Rio could be a mess. its a touristy spot but they wouldn't benefit as much as chicago (which is not the question I know) but Rio will always be a little edgy. I would def go to rio and madrid over chicago though. but i would like to see it happen in the US

yea i thought about going to WC. South Africa would be amazing to visit, but you would only get to see 1-2 games max and it would cost like $5k for the trip
 
I'm currently winging a 5 page English paper on Gulliver's Travels that's due in less than 3 hours. I love being a senior.
 
Sadly they haven't announced anything. They are working on the Tron Legacy soundtrack and also a new album. Hopefully they tour after...the pyramid was insane. Justice was awesome too. Oh and the Fame Kills Tour just got canceled. :lame:

if they took the stage together, would gaga have just done the choruses for kanye after her 5 songs had run out? cuz kanye took the stage for almost 2 hours himself last time (he did bring lupe out for touch the sky)
 
Yeah I was pissed when I found out last night. Was gonna go with some friends this Dec.
 
Not sure since she only has 1 album but she is releasing new music soon and is actually perfoming a new single on SNL tomorrow.
 
I thought about going to S Africa for the World Cup after graduation, but then realized that would be it for my summer. Plus, I found the ticket application process to be kind of complicated. Another thing, the games are all over the place. How would I get around? I would have mainly wanted to stay around Cape Town or the safari-type areas.
 
thats tough man.

i remember I had a biochem exam exactly during the time of the concert. i found like the day before emailed the prof and told him i had to fly out of the country. he let me take it early and go to see it. great night

that sucks that it was canceled. internet is saying that kanye never got a chance to grieve his mother's death (which obviously affected his music) and maybe that might be the reason
