🙂 i know exactly what you mean actually. i did not apply to any NYC schools either, but I did apply to Rochester. I want to go to a good school in a (relatively) cheap and hassle-free town. so if you are the same way, Madison would be an ideal example of this! I applied to Chicago schools because I live here, but the idea of having to take the el to class every day makes me feel quite nauseous.
Speaking of nauseous I have my first interview tomorrow . . . AAH. I feel halfway between this

edit- to clarify about people smack-talking madison, it wasnt about the school, it was just people complaining about the smallness of the town. so if you arent trying to get into a big city then this should not concern you
