Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Then again, I am currently really excited about OSU right now.

But Vandy would be great. Sending that letter of intent just set the "reset" button for my neuroticism. I have hope again.

do you know if they're receptive to intent letters?

247? 😱 Man, and I thought our Step 1 scores were awesome.

yea i was like wtf, seriously? 247? apparently they went 243, 245, and 247 in the past 3 years.

Don't toss your towel in yet...I didn't even get an interview invite....and I wouldn't say I am a terrible applicant per say...they must have seen something awesome in you 🙂

Heh thanks, but I really have no idea, basically the only ppl they've accepted so far are like ksmi

did u really think that vandy had good aid? i felt the opposite, they were really awkward about financial aid when i went

I thought they did, at least compared to the other schools I've interviewed at. They have a fairly small class with only about 110 people, and they have two types of pretty hefty scholarships. They also give 12k max for need based which i'll prolly qualify

Yeah, Vandy is 😍. Only beaten by JHU to me. But if Vandy wanted to give me some monies, I'd happily spend the next 4 years there. 🙂

Vandy 🙁 I love you...

247? 😱 Man, and I thought our Step 1 scores were awesome.

They still are.
Baylor 🙁 I love you...

a fun one is "most common countries in sporcle quizzes"

I named all of the 155 border countries in the "Name the Border Country" quiz 😀

no idea. I updated them on some stuff too, though. I got a poster accepted for my research at a conference and it's co-authored by 3 big-wig Vandy PIs (I did my research at Vandy). one of the PIs actually headed up the H1N1 vaccine clinical trial. maybe they'll look favorably on that.

then again, I know people with far better connections than I who are stuck on the waitlist too.

Man. Impressive. That has to be tops in the nation by a fairly substantial amount, because I know Baylor was near the top, and that is still higher than our score by a bit.

They still are.
Baylor 🙁 I love you...

And Baylor loves bribes 😉

vandy gives a bit over 2 months of free time to study for the step 1

they said 5 weeks during my interview tho, but i heard they give you a ton of information in class and many of the blocks have repeating info so you really know you ****

congrats on miami bb! great school, great beaches, beautiful women, great football...not too many negatives

you might wanna take out the great football part, it's also cheap. it's technically pass/fail, but they put your class rank on your file too so it kinda defeats the purpose of pass/fail

ok fine, great football in comparison to a school with no football

OK, so I think I was there when BB announced Miami, but he never really came out and said it. All I remember was he said he got a phone call.

God, people need to be more excited about this crap.

So it looks like I'll be working at the movie theater again this winter. 🙁 I wanted to stay in BR and get a better, higher-paying job.

But I'm pretty sure I'm going to DisneyWorld - my friend interns there and should be able to get me some sick deals on hotels, I'm getting him an LSU student ticket to the CapOne Bowl.

🤣

 I wish.

Like ksmi said, $80. BCS CG tix were $175 each. 😱

yea, if you can get it. in '06 the tix were going at ~1000 near game time, '08 was cheaper at ~300ish tho. not sure why, you'd think miami would be a more attractive bowl location than tempe

Did you manage to go to that game?

That's actually a lot less than I'd have expected; I'm definitely going to need to whine to my dad until he gets those tix.

LSU says they give bowl tickets to students at face value. So, in 2007, the tix were $175 for a regular ticket (prob lowest price). There are no official "student" prices. Obviously with inflation and location, tickets increase for StubHub, eBay, and scalper-type things.

But dingy, you're right - why would you pay more for Glendale, AZ than Miami???

Hells yeah. Wouldn't have missed it for the world. I almost cried after we won. Then I partied it up on Bourbon afterward.

Went to the Peach Bowl last year, too.

morning. i feel crappy and I don't want to leave my room.
