Did they add a dollar for each school? I thought it was $30 for each additional school after one, but now it's $31 for each additional...
 
I have taken care of transcripts..but how do we handle the recommendations?

I am little confused about this part.

1. Should I have interfolio send all of my recs to aamcs?
2. and also for schools that odnt use aamc for their recs do these need to be sent to specific schools( should I wait until June to do this?!)

any advice will be appreciated!!

I think i am gonna take a stab at the courses tonight and maybe do activities tommorow..=)

1. Yes send them to amcas
2. They need to be sent to specific schools, however you dont need to send them until those schools send a 2ndary and ask you for them.

yah they did....theiving bastards 🙁. I wonder if schools are gonna hike up 2ndary fees too.....i can just imagine now it costs 175 dollars for the boston univ 2ndary 😛
 
i guess i should enter my coursework now..

and the PS really needs to be improved..i have written like waht feels like tons of drafts but still not feel like it represents me!!

ahhh... well im sure it will all come togehter?! =)

whats the retrun time on people editing PS on SDN, I know some of you guys have tried it? does it take about a week?
 
Return time is taking a little long. Lots of lurking 2014ers are apparently sending them and it's finals time, so...

They have come to the realization of that MD/PhD > MD only, thats about it.




You guys all working on the AMCAS has me freaking out a bit. Does it really take more than a few days to fill out everything? other than essays...

And, can you submit it earlier than June 1 and the start verifying it for you? Or what does getting it done prior to June 1 help?

get your LORs and PS and whole application done

not everybody is working
im waiting until tomorrow coz of finals
and i dnt want my grade skrewing up over excitement 😛

With all the excitement of the GRAND AMCAS OPENING, I passed 2000th without myself even noticing it. I was gonna comemorate this event with something absolutely rambunctious... Alas.:cry:

It's weird, it's the first day of AMCAS opening, and I have this crazy urge to fill in everything... even though I still have almost 4 weeks.

Is it okay if I enter in full course titles in AMCAS? My official transcript only abbreviates the course titles, and they are so freaking cryptic (e.g. ENGL COMP LIT)😕
 
i totally know what you mean blue elmo..i rushed my transcripts..even though they arent due for a month..i just dont trust the postal system =)

but I think the PS will obviosuly be the hardest part to just be done with..

i entered the full name
in my unofficial transcript it also said
"anal chem"
and i dont like tht
i put the full catalog name
"analytical chemistry"

but im gonna go and confirm with my advisor to see if it matters
as far as i've heard so far
some people say that AMCAS will correct it if need be
and others say that PUT IT EXACTLY AS ITS ON THE TRANSCRIPT

I put it exactly as it was on my transcript and it worked. No idea if it matters which way though.

Have that many of you taken analytical chem? I mean, I wouldn't take it if my life depended on it. Biochem is as far as I go

my major is biochemistry
so analytical was required
i actually enjoyed it... but im bord of all that calculation now
i still have physical chemistry in the fall which is supposedly the worst class in my department :idea:

Not a chance. Gen and orgo are the only ones required for med school, I think, but I need biochem to complete my major

Since I have a year left with no chemistry, I gave some thought to taking a- or p-chem, but decided against it pretty quick

I would enter them exactly as they appear. But that's just me.

well its not required as far as i know
i read on some school sites that biochemistry or genetics is requried
but i've never seen analytical or p chem

Analytical is the only class I was missing for a minor in chemistry... But I said nuh uh. :nono:

No it is not required.

It's possibly your school calls General Chemistry Analytical and Analytical Chemistry Instrumental Analysis, but I'm just guessing.

Don't blame you. FYI, I'm getting a Chem minor w/only gen, orgo, and biochem, but maybe our schools have different requirements
