Blue, you've got to simma down, man. You aren't actually going to get submitted to schools for a bit and you will probably have to wait until the end of the month for formal secondaries.

If it makes you feel any better I won't even be submitting my app until mid July...

I can't believe they're verifying so fast! That's crazyness. Nice job to all those that have submitted thus far!
 
What I find funny is that the small community college that I took concurrent classes at in high school (and was worried about their ability to get a transcript to AMCAS correctly) got their transcript there in three days...and the University that I currently attend decided to wait two weeks to process my request when they said they would have it out the next day...and now I'm waiting on them. That's ironic.

lol its day 1 and im already stressing!!! I think after apps are done im going to age 4-5 years 🙁. Probably look as old as OC!!! 🙁🙁
 
I checked my e-mail and I can't believe that AMCAS has already processed and verified my application this morning. Man, they must be working overtime today. Nothing ever happens this quickly with the AAMC! Either that or I was the 2 or 3rd person to have submitted my application.

I'm a punk and I'm in chicago. And man this no internet is driving me crazy. Anyway it's a good thing I started work for no pay yesterday bc now I can talk more about my project in my research essay. Going home to do an edit, then back to staples to get free internet to submit. Yay

Really BADDDDD

my average Kaplan and AAMC was 28-33
and in real mcat i got 9ps, 7bs, and 4vR.

Man i am still in shock, i dont feel like doing anything now. jst depressed. 🙁

Wow, well personally I wouldnt send in my app unless you know you are going to make a significant improvement on the next mcat. If you feel you did bad just becuase of nerves (i know i felt that way when i got my score) you could apply now. or you could always do the apply to one school method so you can get verified asap, then if you do well on the next mcat update and apply to all the schools you wanted. Still going to be late but certainly not out of the game.

Well, I'm going to cut the crap and give it to you straight. There's no way you will get into a MD school with 20 MCAT and a 4 on Verbal. With that said, I say you don't submit your app until you retake the test.

From your practice tests, you have done well. I'm thinking you panicked or just froze up during the actual test. You definitely know the material, because your practice test scores are good. You just need to pinpoint what went wrong on the test day. Were you distracted? Were you unable to focus? Were you just plain nervous?

Study hard until July 30th and get back to test form, and you will be fine.👍

Agreed. Also umw I would recommend practicing with the AAMC official exams rather than just the kaplan ones.
 
I submitted!!!..

..but it says "waiting for transcript", though it's already received. Hopefully that works itself out soon...

....ok, it's fixed now. Gee, that was fast!
 
See, this is where I go crazy stupid pre-med. I couldn't submit before I went to work today, so just did a second ago and now I see that others are already verified. If it could have just opened a half hour earlier, I'd be verified already. I know that it should happen really quickly, but I could get both headaches of AMCAS submission and AMCAS verification out of the way both today. Sorry about the crazy rant, although I consider myself a fairly chill pre-med, sometimes it happens.

lol its ok it happens to all of us. I just want to be verified to make sure theres no strange problem with my grades....makes me paranoid the longer it says "waiting to be reviewed" or w/e on the home page. I should have woken up 3 hours early!! I think i submitted at like 9am PST.

don't worry UMW. i did bad on mine as well. we're both in the same boat. will retake though. 30+ and i am a happy camper.

one good news today for me...FAP received my documents and will process it. i should hear back within 15 days. after that i will click submit.

btw....does anyone know how secondaries are handle? Do we wait for schools to send us links or can we just pull them off of the thread that Bryson posted?
 
I hope after I get into medical school this year I don't spontaneously transform into a huge loser with no life that tries to compete for the "top" post (with unfunny symbolism courtesy of Google image search) in a 150+ page thread and say things like "class of 2014 pwns you!" or "too bad you 2015ers aren't as good as us 2014ers!!!!@" or some other such *****ic thing ad naseum.

the link bryson posted was last cycles secondary threads. This year we will have something similar. You have to wait for the schools to send them to you however, when people post the secondaries for this year you can write them, and then when you formally get invited to submit one you could have the essay done already. Starting the end of june some secondaries are going to be sent out.

Welcome. I'm a reapplicant too. My last cycle was just depressing, not too nerve raking. I never interviewed. Hopefully those will go well this time.

You wait for the school to contact you, then they give you a time-line (i.e. submit this in 14 days, etc) and tell you which LORs to submit. Then you pay them and that's when they want your essay. Some give protected links, some have a whole account that you have to sign up for. Others just give you a word file that you type in and mail in (UNC).

I am not looking at any of the AMCAS advice threads. I haven't even looked at my application again... kinda scared I'm going to find a huge glaring error I missed....
 
My "under review" stage is taking forever! If there's a problem, they should just email me or call me.

I was verified this morning! 🙂. but looking at the GPA section makes me want to cry...🙁 lol. so bad i hope med schools look at upward trends! My amcas GPA was lower then what i calculated too! though not really by much...it went from a 3.55 to a 3.51 😛
