went to volunteer today for the first time since submitting my primary (have a one year commitment so im almost done). just sat in a back room reading some video game magazines the whole time :laugh:

One of my buddies who's starting med in the fall, used to go out and get high with this high school girl and then hook-up all night while he was logged in...

I always worked my shifts though. I actually liked hanging out with some of the docs and spending time with some of the patients. A few of them were @ssholes though, because they had the flu and were shocked that the guy with a missing appendage was able to be seen first...

dude, that's the way to do it. As soon as I started my primary, I stopped going to volunteering stuff, even though I wrote the date to "Until Present".😆

yeah theres a few docs/nurses/techs i like to chat with when volunteering but none of em were in today... saturday is probably the lamest day to volunteer :lame:

hah yeah same here... i had like 2-4 hours/week each of various activities up till the app... which are still going on "until present" but i've gone in for like 1 hour total since :laugh:

Oh please. You know most people do it just for the app. I know I wouldn't have done some of the things I've done if it weren't for med apps.

I always advise people against it, but in reality we all do it.

this is my issue as well... one of my LOR writers (told about LOR one month ago) says she left for a one month vacation of europe on friday :laugh:

Yeah, I guess so.
I just think my issues are not having high enough stats for a lot of the schools I applied to. Timing wise, I'm golden.
But the grass is always greener on the other side, hmmm.

Hmmm, I don't know if I would go that far. 1 month of intensive prep isn't a lot, but we'll see where it gets me... :shrug:

All my letters have been received a long time ago. Just waiting for those sweet secondaries. I think I will be complete soon at schools everywhere, hopefully.

I think it can work for you. That's what I did, and I highly doubt that playing Guitar Hero half the damn time counts as 'intensive'.
Crappy study breaks that last longer than actually studying are probably a common reason for unpreparedness.

Mine is the only thing keeping me going in this process. Filling out stuff early, and being optimistic. If not, then I have a long couple of months ahead.

I think I just now figured out what I'm going to write about. Then there's the process of actually writing it. :laugh:
But I would like to get it submitted within the next week, before the whole data dump thing possibly gives me more secondaries than I know what to do with before I even finish my first one (that only has 1 essay).
 
I hope after I get into medical school this year I don't spontaneously transform into a huge loser with no life that tries to compete for the "top" post (with unfunny symbolism courtesy of Google image search) in a 150+ page thread and say things like "class of 2014 pwns you!" or "too bad you 2015ers aren't as good as us 2014ers!!!!@" or some other such *****ic thing ad naseum.
 
Ok, so I've got an issue... All my presentations/abstracts won't fit under one "Activity." Do you think it would be ok to use two?

I'm just listing them as:

Author 1, Author 2 (date). Title of presentation. Where it was presented at. City, State.


What do you guys think?

i agree with blue, sounds fine as long as you got the space. Like you always tell me its not like they read these things closely anyways :meanie:

Why doesn't the movie theater open later on Sundays? No one comes that early anyway. I guess I'll try to enjoy that it'll only be semi-busy before Transformers of death comes out Wednesday. Then I will be dead for the rest of the summer via new big movie releases.
