Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
sweep. port.

yourself??

havent met many rowers on here. glad to see there are some premeds out there who like 7am practices 😀

sweep. starboard. and 7am would have been a treat, ours were 6:15 😛

No, I don't think you have to explain it. I'm talking about using the "ages lived there" thing. I guess I would say 'Ages 18-20 during school year'?

huh I didn't even think to put the place where I went to undergrad. Hopefully that's ok.

lucky you! there was only one other crew on our water and they wouldnt even practice in the morning, so we were given an extra hour to sleep lol. coach says he used to wake up at 5:30 to get to practice. glad i dont have to wake up that early!

im in hanover for the summer and i dont think i could stay away from EVERYTHING burlington had to offer as a med student...lol

Oh if you click on the ?? help box it shows you what to put. Its like Ages - 13 to 20 - Baton rouge, LA, Population 12345. Something like that

Hey,

I am getting ready to take the MCATs and am a bit nervous about my score. I'm expecting it to range from a 29-32 (most likely with a lower verbal score). I do have a good GPA though, 3.9. Additionally, I've done some interning at a local hospital, volunteered a lot, and am a division I student-athlete. What are my chances of at least getting interviews at places like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Penn State... and then other schools like Pitt, Cornell, NYU?

Thanks for any help!

id suggest posting in the "what are my chances?" forum for more responses.

as for your chances, i would highly recommend studying harder for the MCAT. you're right in saying you have a good GPA, but med schools look to the MCAT as an equalizer. schools differ in rigor; if you can pull off a solid MCAT it will solidify in their minds that youre a good candidate.

chances for an interview? as good a chance as any of us i suppose. especiallly since we dont know your MCAT

Seriously though, I would go to the "what are my chances" forum.

I'm not a mod.

I just play one on TV.

anyone else really hating "why do you want to go here" as much as i am? it's getting old to have to talk about this crap.

Ugh yes! I wish I could just write "because I want to go to med school, duh!!"

Soak it. I would soap it up and soap it with boiling H2O.

Maybe even put it on the stove with water and scrape it while the soapy water is boiling.

Tried that already, didn't work. I'm gonna try soaking it in Coke, if that doesn't work I'll go buy baking soda and steel wool. I normally wouldn't really care except I borrowed it from someone.

So I told my pre-professional office that I was applying to the UCs and that they needed to forward my five letters of recommendation to AMCAS.

AMCAS sent me four e-mails today, saying that they got four letters.

Where the hell is the fifth? That's one of my science letters. I need it 🙁

WHY CAN'T THIS PROCESS BE SIMPLE

semi random question since it seems silly to make a thread for this:
I have to print out one of my med school apps and snail mail it in. Should I be printing it out on some of that super nice resume paper or is regular paper (not crappy fax paper) just fine?
thoughts?

Just wait. It takes time to process all the letters.

I'd just use white printer paper. Whichever school that is needs to get with the times.

I used normal crappy paper its fine. You dont need to send in like scented resume paper 😛

lol who knows someone might like the originality😉

Hmm if that's the case maybe I should send them a video like she made too and send it in to all my schools, I'm sure they'd be very receptive to that...😛

nah, i think that only works at harvard.

Omg, why is SDN being so slow?

In case people didn't notice. SDN crashed because too many people were online. We broke the "most users online at a time" record by about 800-1000 users today.

i know its so frustrating...

do you sweep or scull? i rowed in college as well...

My mom used to row. Was gonna go to the Olympics but America boycotted that year.

These cat pictures are getting old.👎

Never.

The baking soda and steel wool should work. I didn't recommend it because it will scratch the **** out of your pot.

Good luck. That would suck if you had to buy your buddy a new one.
