But, I woke up this morning to a nice surprise- a 36Q. 🙂

I just wanna say I f^cking love you guys. For real. This girl has gone from a hippie slacker with a paintbrush to an honest-to-God med school applicant. I am. So. Excited. to get my applications cracking 😀😀😀

and PLEASE, i would so LOVE any suggestions you can offer me on school choices!!! I'm happy that my MCAT score will broaden my choices a bit.

wow thats an amazing score, you can basically apply anywhere now 🙂. A 13 in verbal is pretty sick too, thats really impressive. Good luck 🙂. Oh as for your school list i dont undestand why kentucky, unless you have some strong family ties there or something, but the rest is fine. I notice you are an IL resident, your mcat score is certainly good enough for northwestern and pritzker if you wanted to add those to stay in state, not to mention pritzker offers a TON of free financial aid to their students and is reducing class sizes, i found that hugely appealing. A 36 puts you good at about everywhere so id just add anything that doesnt require calc and you like.

Just did. I put peds even though I'm more interested in the pediatric specialties b/c there was no option for that. That is strange that you're the only one who put obgyn so far

yeah, i put IM but the things i'm really interested in are: peds (with a subspecialty fellowship), IM (with a subspecialty fellowship), obgyn, gerontology.

Thanks so much!!!!!!! it will be hard to afford it, lol . . . right now I am behind on a few credit cards (ugh, they are the devil! so stupid of me to get into CC debt) so i gotta get caught up with that before I submit any secondaries. but i think my parents are excited enough that they will be willing to cough up a few hundred bucks for more primaries.

edited to add- ok i know this may be borderline neurotic but do you think my 9 in PS will raise any eyebrows? if anyone asks i will just tell them the truth- i took as little math and physics as possible in HS/ college because i didn't think i'd need it. so when i took Physics as a postbac with no high school trig, calc, or physics, well . . . that crap is hard for me!!

Doesnt matter, the physics scores are the ones you want to score low in if you do at all. If you look at the main report that schools or people tend to site about the predicative value of the MCAT, its the bio and verbal that are important, the physics had little predicative value. Also i remember the dean of creighton told me that in general physics scores dont matter as long as they are 9+. They much prefer to see high bio and verbal. Id assume its similar for many other schools based on the report that "proves" the mcats value. Theres no real need to explain anything you got a 36 and a 9+ in each section, thats awesome. 🙂 No need to worry most people if they score a 9 tend to have it in verbal and high sciences, you did it the better way 😛

I'm at 16/16/23. Most of my hard ones are done too, except for Stony Brook which requires 3 1 page essays ugh! (I have one done though so luckily I'll only have to write two). I'm excited that they're winding down and we should hopefully start hearing back about interviews soon!🙂
