It seems kind of rude though. "I will be there this date because I'm doing an interview there for another school, so would you please mind giving me an interview as well? I don't want to waste money on airplane costs." :shrug:

Seriously though, you really don't want to invite yourself to the interviews. Some people will just not understand, and you don't want one person ruining your chances.

Hey y'all. My committee letter finally got to AMCAS today!! Just in time, as I finally have enough extra $ to start submitting secondaries. I did Baylor first because it's the shortest. 🙂 Hopefully I can get 6 or 7 submitted by the end of next week. Gonna go work on UIC now . . . I'm pissed because I started working on it earlier, but it took me a long time to fill out the activities- and when i hit submit, it said i was timed out. and of course it didn't save. so i gotta do it again 😡
 
No news today for me. I think I was spoiled by Monday's news and now expect something everyday. :laugh:
But I don't think it's unreasonable that I'm very mad because I haven't gotten a Vandy letter yet. Does anyone know if they sent any rejections already, or are people just too scared to post it if it happened to them?

ugh I've been working on this for days...its horrible. I'm not sure where the happy medium is between explaining the situation enough and just rambling.

Soooo you could either tell them you will be in the area with no explanation why or just put it out there that you'll be in the area for another interview and since it's such a far trip you would love to consolidate interviews if at all possible.

Maybe they'll think you're a pompous jerk...or maybe they'll be interested because some other school is interested. Seems that some students get a little leverage with adcoms when they've been deemed worthy by another school...from my friends' experiences.

I really don't know what to think about Vandy. I would think that someone would post a rejection. I looked at last year's rejection thread and the first Vandy rejection was posted on 8/13.

I'm pretty sure the first interviews were before that though, correct? Maybe they send the interviews first and the rejections a week or two later.

Do you think it just takes them longer to decide who to reject than who to interview?

I hope that isn't the case though . . . I really just want to know either way asap 🙁
 
anyone else find it a bit disturbing all the vampires claim humans? way too much sex going on in that show...and most of it isnt even human sex! its like possessed/vampire/maenad-dictated/shape-shifting/animal sex

kinda hot though 🙄
 
some schools dont reject, they hold til the very end. i know vandy isnt the case but they just aren't in outright reject mode

yea, I elaborated a lot of pre-used essays for this one. each essay had like 3 parts to it too. but they already started inviting people so i was like f*ck it


I would say it was less than 5 pages total

yeah, im getting to the f*ck it stage with a couple of mine too...i just want to be done already! but my bf is coming home tomorrow after three weeks away (during which i was supposed to finish all my apps, whoops) so i doubt ill be getting much done this weekend...

yea its kinda exhaustive but at least we received most of the secondaries there is to receive right?
 
hey redrower - i just got this text from a rower friend of miine "20+ mph winds and rolling whitecaps makes for adventurous rowing...fml" haha be glad youre not rowing in that!

jesus! where is she/he? i row on a lake and its pretty unpredictable at times. one time whitecaps appeared just as we reached shore. woulda been devastating if we were 15 mins late

i dont really care if anyone from school finds out who i am. anyone who is gonna call me out on sdn prolly wouldnt have the balls to do so in public if they saw me.

You should watch at least 1 or 2 episodes! It's based in LA and the actors have crazy southern accents, but you get used to it. They even mention LSU in one episode. 😀

It's an HBO series, but if you don't have that you can watch it online. 🙄
